The pub at the end of the line
Just across the road from Derby's mainline rail station (two hours from St Pancras), the Brunswick is a distinctive pub rescued when the railway houses that this public house was built to serve were protected by a conservation order 20 years ago. Completed originally in 1842, it was the first purpose-built railway pub. The Brunswick itself has been painstakingly restored and transformed into an establishment favoured by many discerning drinkers, with excellent commitment to real ale - some of which it brews on the premises.

It's the natural place to pop into after a long train journey from North, South, East or West to slake one's thirst. So many great features and a real passion for ale. In 2001, it was voted UK Beer Pub of the Year.
