dangerously cheap and nice cava
This is a truly original place in the heart of Barceloneta with an amazing atmosphere (when it's not completely packed).

You can have great (and very greasy) bocatas for as little as 1.50 euros, nice tapas (although limited variety) and a bottle of cava for 1.80 euros.

Great value for money, informal, lively, it guarantees having a great evening and a promising night (since you are bound to be completely pissed by the time you leave the place - I repeat for those of you who didn't get it the first time, a bottle of cava costs 1.80 euros...)

Definitely one of my favourite places in Barcelona and worth visiting if you're in the city even for a just a couple of days.

Great Cafe on Columbia Road
Great place to have a coffee or drinks. Films are shown from time to time and other art events are hosted ocasionally. They have a nice selection of organic beers and they also serve a limited selection of savoury plates. I tried a savoury pastry for lunch that didn't particularly excite me. However there are more stuff on the menu that looked like having "potential". On the whole it's a place definitely worth going and can easily turn into a favourite. I really love the collection of vintage cups and mugs!

Particularly enjoyed the soups which are rich and filling so it's the most value for money item on the menu. Overall the place is not cheap but you get very good quality food, pizzas and salads with nice and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is great and informal with big wooden tables where everybody can sit togeher.
