Good atmosphere and a great place to eat if you're looking for something well priced and fun - specially if you hit the cocktails! Unfortunately our food took quite a while to arrive... so by the time it did I had probably had a few too many margarita's and wasn't really into the idea of eating! pretty loud so don't expect to take a date here, but overall a good night and tasty food.

Having recently moved further East than ever ventured.. I have taken it upon myself to find some cheap and cheerfuls (that doesn't include your local chicken shop)

We were greeted and looked after by the sweetest little thai lady ever, who was very helpful with opening our wine and explaining the specials

(BYO and no cork fee) !!!

its a cute little place right on the high st, very popular as the night went on, luckily we got there early - the decor is very simple but the food is sooo delicious and such a bargian. We each ordered an entree, main, and desert each to share, and it all came to around £15 each - amazing since we left there completely stuffed and satisfied!

Traditionally called Dim Sum in this country.. I am always one for a good yum char sunday afternoon to wash away the hangover from the night before.

Sunday's at Shanghai is awesome. Its happy hour!! Dim Sum dishes are all £1.60-£1.80. Bargain.. It's a cute little place that used to be a pie n mash or butcher or something along those lines hence the tiled decor at the front.

We were seated in the coldest room but managed to warm it up with lots of beers that our lazy susan had a great time spinning round to the 7 of us. The fancy pants waitor had a little bit of a bee in his pink bonnet but I thought he was rather funny. Service is a bit crap, but we aint in no mitchellin star place so you gotta roll with it..

Everything from chicken feet to whole/half ducks, my favourite bbq pork bun its all good - Our bill was £20 each with loads of booze and I could hardly walk afterwards, there was no need to eat that much really but I can never help myself..

This restaurant is the gangsta love child of genius's Marco Pierre White and Frankie Dettori. At first I thought.. heavens, I'll have to starve myself for a week and wear my best fur to even get into a swanky place like this in Knightbridge- Think again... I have never been to such a sparkly swish eatery where I can get a ribeye steak for £13.50!!

The tiles are amazing as you walk in... but then wait until you see the shiny disco balls! Any American/Italian mob member would look fabulous in this joint - I just loved the interior, it made me feel fabulous;

Wine list starts with bottles from 12.50 to £30.00. I had the Americano pizza to start (8.50) then the best bowl of cabonara I have had in a long time, and it was HUGE. My partner had the fish, and my other dining partners had rib eye, pizza, snails.. the list goes on. There was a group of about 15 of us, and wine, starters and main all came in at about £20.00 each.

Apparantly there is a majician on Wednesday's - Saturday's - I'd love to go back then and catch this show, (i've heard its great) 5 out of 5 for me - Where else can you get the indulgance of eating in Knightbridge for such a small price.

This place is conveniant if you are going to Vue Cinema's in Angel - It's right next to the cinema, unfortunately I wish it tasted a bit nicer!

The dumpling were fantastic - it was all going well to start with, we have the chicken dumplings filled with cabbage, chinese leaf, chinese chives and water chestnut. served with a chilli, garlic, sesame and soy sauce. (£4.50) - really good, we should have just ordered a whole lot of these!

I then had: chicken kare lomen
a spicy soup made from lemongrass, coconut milk, shrimp paste, red chillies, fresh ginger and galangal. served with ramen noodles and garnished with a marinated and grilled chicken breast, beansprouts, cucumber, fresh coriander and a wedge of lime.
Sounds delicious, but all it tasted like was soup with chilli, I had to pile on the soy sauce to get any taste whatsoever out of it - not impressed. (£8.20)

My partner had seafood ramen £9.00
noodles in a vegetable soup topped with seasonal greens and
wakame, grilled smooth dory, marinated and grilled black tiger prawns, grilled squid and kamaboka-aka.
The was one prawn.. and to be honest, if I had eaten that I would have been sick.

They call themselves fast food to excuse themselves from the fact that your meals never arrive out at the same time, something I see as a poor and basically unacceptable if you are going out for a meal and paying for it!

I'd go back for the dumplings, but I think my meals at home are nicer than what we got here...

The Pineapple
This place is great! It's been redecorated so got a great little quaint feel with the fabulous wallpaper. It has lots of seating outside, and lots inside too! The local puppy was sleeping in front of the fire when I last visited there (very cute) which made it quite homely.

I had a few glasses of Leffe Blonde served with some of the great Thai food they do, also available takeway. We had the satay sticks, spring rolls, and prawn toast, while our friend had the red lamb curry. The starters came to £10 while the curry with rice was £6.00 - all very tasty and made our beer go down a treat!

I've read a few reviews on this place that has complained about the bar staff, however I find the lovely ladies to be really friendly! Maybe I just have manners..
Great for a quiet pint, they play good music but not too loud! Not the kind of place that I've seen get rowdy - perfect for a catch up with your friends.

Volstead - 1920's Private Members Bar
This place is swanky - tucked away on Swallow St just down the rd from The Cuckoo Club the bar/club is decorated in a 1920's theme - velvet curtains, mirrored walls. I have been here a number of times and had a great time!
It's relatively small, and fills up by 12am - by 2am everyone inside is pretty messy, probably because they all have Mummy and Daddy's credit cards. The people are generally good fun though, not your snobby crowd while under the influence.

Once you have a table inside the Grey Goose flows all night, and the hot waitors who serve your table are always good to look at. The place is not cheap though! The membership I think is around £700 a year, and you will only get in if you are a hot lady of the night, or have your name on the door list.

Located just off Oxford St, it draws the kind of crowd you like to stare at what label your handbag is..
The place itself is absolutely amazing, £2 million was spent on the lighting, which takes 5 people to operate, the bathrooms are beautiful and overall the place is glamourous. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced - and to be honest the music is pretty cheesy.

It calls itself a private members bar/club but if you look pretty, they will let you in. The crowd is not that sophisticated although they may try to act like they are; overall I probably wouldn't bother coming here again unless you had money to burn -

Tiffin Curry
I have lived in the Aldgate/Whitechapel area for a while now and this place is one of the only places I will eat at! I've tried a fair few crap curries slapped together by the local joints, but Tiffin is a gem. You have to walk a little way down Commercial Rd to find it, but worth it, much better than most up Brick Lane.

The owner is absolutely lovely, taking great pride in his food, and is chatty and friendly. They do great takeaways and also deliver -

My favourite is the lamb pasanda at about £7.00, some of their meals can be pretty spicey so when it says hot it means hot! Overall, mains are about £6-£8, entree's area also yummy. Quiet relaxed atmosphere and close to the Castle for a pint afterwards!
