Traditional Seaside Grub
This cafe is a typical seaside eating establishment. It serves traditional food at a reasonable price. It offers everything from a big cooked breakfast (which is really tasty), to cream teas, and evening meals with lots of different sweets and icecreams.

There are also kids meals on offer. There are highchairs available if you need one.

The service is ok. The staff are friendly. You can eat inside or outside.

The toilets are up a steep flight of stairs. This is the only negative. However they are clean and well stocked with hand soap etc.

It is on the main shopping street of Woolacombe, near to the beach.

Amazing Modern Building
This is the most amazing church.It is the main Catholic Church in London. It is not a traditional looking building being just over 100 years old and built of brick on the outside.
Inside it is remarkable, built using traditional techniques. There is lots of mosaics over large areas, used to fantastic effect.
There is a wide range of marble used - over 100 different types from a variety of countries. The differences in colour is quite spectacular.
There are side chapels decorated in different styles and there is a depiction of the twelve stations of the cross which is moving - the traditional pictures of christs journey to the cross.
It is free to visit, but you can make a donation to the upkeep of the church.

Reading Railway Station
Reading has a good railway station. It serves plenty of destionations all over the country.

There are plenty of shops including WHSmiths, Boots, a florist and lots of places where you can get food or a coffee.

It is a large station, with plenty of ticket staff and lots of information screens.There are also automatic ticket machines for local journeys. There are always staff around on the platforms if you need any assistance. It doesn't get so busy that it feels uncomfortable.

It is a short walk from the station to the centre of Reading where there is good shopping - a large high street and a modern shopping centre by the river.

Good for kids
This mcdonalds is in the centre of Newcastle Under Lyme.It is decorated inside with paintings of the area. It always has special offers on.
My kids love going here. There is a large area with seating for children and usually Cbeebies on the tv screens. It is clean and tidy. THere is always a lady sweeping up and keeping the place tidy.
There is a baby changing/disabled toilet as well as the usual mens and ladies. There are low sinks and hand driers for kids.
It is a large McDonalds so you can get a seat easily.

Good Freshly Cooked Food
This is a great pub. It is a nice place to have a quiet meal with friends. It is a traditional looking pub, furnished accordingly.
The food is freshly cooked and it is always nice. There is a good variety with a menu and lots of specials. With the main course you get a side dish of veg, usually with cauliflower cheese and at least two other veg. We can rarely finish all the food.
Because it is popular I would recommend you book a table rather than just turn up. I always book!
There is plenty of parking outside the pub.

Wedding Venue
This is one of the oldest places in Bracknell - Bracknell being a "New Town". Friends of ours got married here. It was really nice. The service was held in an old wood panelled room, filled with candles and flowers. It had real atmosphere.

In between the service and the meal there was time for coffee or something stronger in the nice bar.

The meal itself was nice, fresh and well presented.

I have also been to the theatre here which was a good laugh. This is one of the few nice places in Bracknell - well worth a visit!

Historical Excellence
This is a fabulous place to visit if you are at all interested in history. You cant help but be impressed with its majestic walls and the views over edinburgh.
If you are visiting Edinburgh it is the one thing you must do.
I would highly recommend getting an interactive cd machine that is available to rent. It enables you to listen to information about the things you are interested in by pressing the number of the exhibit. It costs a little extra but enhances the visit greatly.

You could spend all day here if you had the time. When my two boys are a little bit older we are going to go back so they can remember the experience.

Good Grub
This is a great place to eat on holiday. It is near to the sea front. If you choose a good table you can have a view of the sea. The food is nice - there is a good selection from cooked breakfasts to evening meals. It isn't the cheapest but it tastes good and there is plenty of space in the restaurant. It is a traditional place with large solid wooden tables and chairs.
Children are catered for as well with a variety of childrens meals. It gets very busy in the summer. For those staying outside the town it is just opposite the bus stop.
I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great Beach Cafe
This is a great beach cafe. High on the cliffs above Woolacombe beach this cafe nestles in the rock. The view across the beach and the sea is fantastic whatever the weather. We always go here when we first arrive in Woolacombe for a cooked breakfast. Breakfast is great with plenty of food and good variety. The coffee is good.The food is not too expensive.

They cater for kids with highchairs etc.

If the weather is good you can sit outside. If its not you can sit inside in the warm and enjoy being cozy while still enjoying the view. It does get busy when the weather is bad!

Great for gifts
This is a great shop to buy gifts for birthdays, christmas, and thank yous. It is also good for buying little treats either for yourself or your little ones. They sell all manner of things from posh boxes of chocolates, to icecreams and small packets of chocolates for kids.
They even sell diabetic chocolate and toffees - a great present for people unable to eat normal chocolates. I buy my uncle pressies there for this reason.
The staff are helpful. It isn't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for! Also the chocs in the boxes are huge! Far bigger than Roses or Quality Street chocs.
