Stockports Cineworld is a relatively good part of the cinema chain and has many great apects to it.

Firstly, it has well over 10 screens, and so the latest movies are running continuously all day so you can guarantee to see it, even if you miss a particular time. And, because of the number of screens, the cinema is never totally packed as they are spread over the 2 or 3 screens dedicated to each movie.

The different screening areas are clean, though the seating is a little old but still comfortable and useable. There are also lots of seats, easily able to accommodate hundereds of people. And, tickets for children copst around £3.50 whilst adults will get change from a £5 and so the cinema is a cheap way to spend a few hours of your day.

The staff are very good, though sometimes there are younger staff members who are uncooperative but the vast majority are all very helpful. And, depending on how you look at it, they are either very strict or very professional as more often than not, they will refuse entry to those who look younger than the films age rating, unless ID is shown. This is appealing as your youngsters won't be able to sit into an 18's film unless they deviously sneak intoa different screen, though the ushers should stop them.

There are lots of amenities, including large toilets and snacks. The toilets are clean and stocked and are cleaned throughout the day. The snacks are avilable at the entrance, with everything from Ice Creams and Popcorn to Crisp and Maltesars. However, I would recommend going to WoolWorths (5 minute walk away) and buying some sweets there as the prices are very expensive at the cinema. A bag of Maltesars (large cinema size) can be bought for around £1.69 at Woolworths but are £2.99 at CineWorld and Pick 'n' Mix is ridiculous with the empty bag alone costing £0.20 if you weigh it.

Other than the price of snacks, Stockports CineWorld is a respectable part of it's chain of cinemas and offers everything a cinema should and more.

Great Buffet
Top Wok is a great little restaurant located above the Co Op in Hazel Grove.

For just over (or under) a tenner (depending on lunch or dinner) you get unlimited acces to the buffet which features your favourite chinese dishes.

There is sufficient food but it would be better if there were more dishes as some Chinese Buffets now offer as many as 60 whereas Top Wok offers around 15.

There are desserts, including Jelly, Fruit Cocktail and Ice Cream, among dishes such as Aromatic Duck, Sweet and Sour Chicken and sides like Prawn Crackers and soups.

The restauarant is especially family orientated, with childrens toys available for youngsters to play with located next to the bar in a visible area (maximum of 20 feet from any table in the restaurant. The closest is 4 feet away) and so younger children around 3 years + would be able to go over and play whilst the adults finish their dinner, obviously supervised from afar.

The food is reasonably priced, with a family of four (2 adults 2 children) including a drink each would cost around £60ish which is reasonably priced, though other local chinese buffets offer many more dishes at a cheaper price so do look aruond before coming here.

It's Not great
This Pizza Hut is not as great as it's many brother and sister establishments in the country.

It could be cleaner and sometimes, you are seated at tables that haven't yet been cleaned and wiped, and you definatley should check your seat before sitting down or else you may have to identify the toppings on your rump through touch which isn't nice.

The staff differ, as some who work there are pleasant and helpful, yet some don't really care and are all about the minimum wage they are slaving over. Fortunatly, when i went the most recent time, a helpful girl was working there and was an excellent waitress.

The food is ok with lots of choice, and the buffet / salad bar is ok, though is small and limited, but the Pizza avilable is good as with the buffet, you get all sorts.

The price is the same as other Pizza Huts, though i believe if you want a Pizza, get your local takeaway out of the draw and order one as even with delivery costs, it should come out cheaper, or try Dominoes.

Excellent Restaurant
I've been to the Tai Pan on two occasions and both have been in a large party of 10 or more.

They easily accommodated us in the lively restaurant. Though there were lots of diners, the spacious room was more than large enough for everyone and so you didn't feel cramped and crowded.

The food came out quite quickly and was delicious. There was also a lot of it so you will fill up. The only problem was being on a large table, the revolving circle bit on the table had to go around quite a bit to let somebody get some food, so it was a bit of a hassle but wasn't a major deal.

The restaurant is family friendly and we ourselves had two older children (7 and 9) as well as a one year old baby. The restaurant was loud so babies crying was drowned out by general happy chit chat in the vibrant place.

The food and drinks were reasonably priced. There are cheaper places to eat but the restaurant staff were excellent as was the food so somewhere as nice will be hard to come by. We could of easily paid double that at a restaurant of the same stature.

Overall, a very nice restaurant and somewhere we would come again.
