Cookies, drinks - all delicious
I often find myself innocently walking through the Brent Cross shopping centre when a sudden hunger hits me as a result of the smell coming from Millie's. Unfortuneately, this smell is almost overpowered by that of the nearby McDonalds. Either way, it smells absolutely delicious.

The cookies are baked to perfection - soft and somewhat gooey (in the good way). There's lots of different things in the cookies, but unfortunately, not all are nut-free (I'm allergic to nuts) but those that have nuts are clearly marked, so there can't be any mistakes.

You can also buy different types of drinks - I think you can have a milkshake made, but I'm not sure, and you can get iced frappuccino-type things, and other drinks too.

I think you can get ice cream as well, though this might be a different Millie's, perhaps someone else can confirm.

On the whole, I strongly suggest that you go to a Millie's sometime soon. You won't be disappointed.

Drumsticks, guitars galore!
I'm trying to learn to play the drums, so I found myself in Hooters music shop looking at drumsticks. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of sizes and even brands. There's 5A, 7A, etc sizes from brands like Zildjian and Vic Firth. There are even Travis Barker (from blink-182, Transplants, +44) signature sticks from Zildjian.

Needless to say, I bought myself a few pairs, and was quite pleased with the prices (the most expensive ones, the Travis Barker sticks, costing £10, and the other pairs costing about £8 I think) although I know they could be cheaper if I got them online.

I then wandered over to the guitar section and was amazed at the quality of guitars. Most were good quality guitars from good brands. Others were the cheapies from some small, unknown brand, but that's to be expected. There was even a Hello Kitty guitar I saw!

I was very surprised to find flutes, clarinets and other woodwind instruments, as I always thought Hooters to be almost completely guitar-oriented. Having played a flute for some time, I had a look at those as well.

Nothing was about the shop, so I'm going to give it a 5/5.

Great variety
I've always liked the Camden Lock Market, it's full of a whole bunch of differeny stuff, with new stuff showing up regularly.

I recently took a friend of mine who was visiting London from Germany to Camden and she had such fun running around this market. It is full of bracelets, rings, and other jewellery, all of which she loves.

Like I said, there's jewellery galore, but there's also a lot of very good art prints, generally of Camden itself, or celebrities from years gone by (think Freddie Mercury)

There's also a stall of zip bag thingies.. Not sure what they're called, but it's basically a bag made out of one really long zip. Quite cool really.

The downside of all this stuff is that it's all quite expensive. I suggest you try to haggle a bit for everything.

And there are lots of other stuff, so go see for yourself!

Brilliant clothes
Camden Market is one of my favourite places in London. It's got witty t-shirts, gothic clothes, cool badges, a whole variety of belt buckles, band hoodies, and then some of that freaky slimy stuff (I don't know WHAT it is, but it's weird)

Whatever your fashion tastes are, you'll probably find something to buy in the market, but of course, it'll be much easier to find if you like the goth/punk/new wave type stuff.

Personally, I go for the hoodies and the funny t-shirts. New t-shirts come along occasionally, matching current TV shows, films, news, etc (for example, the more recently seen t-shirt saying "Hiro is my hero!" relating to the TV show "Heroes")

One thing I would say to everyone is do NOT buy things at the price they say! HAGGLE! Nothing in Camden is worth what they try to sell it as, so they'll normally bring down the price a good 25/50%. Also, keep your cash in notes of lesser values - when they ask for £15, bring out a £10 note and innocently say that it's all the money you have left. But those are just my tricks :P

Anyway, I really recommend that everyone goes to Camden at least once (tourists included!)

Great food - lots of different things to eat
I've got a friend in Wimbledon, so I pop in to Greggs sometimes, and I've got to admit, it's one of my favourite places for a quick bite or a sweet treat.

Greggs is full of lovely sandwiches, baguettes, bagels, pasties, doughnuts, etc. Basically anything made with some type of bread, generally baked.

When I was a child, my mother used to buy me a iced doughnut covered with sprinkles. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found the same type of doughnuts (white icing with multi-coloured sprinkles)still being made today! Of course, there's no reason for them to have stopped making it, but it made me happy all the same.

The sandwiches are very good quality food - great for lunch - and have various different fillings (my favourite being the good old BLT)

I would definitely recommend Greggs for anyone, even if they're not hungry! The smell of it all, freshly baked, will make you hungry anyway. And it's not too expensive!

Good kebabs
Flame is the kind of place that looks a bit shabby and like any old food place along your average high street, but the food is surprisingly good.

The kebabs are great, and the staff don't mind making a sort of custom kebab for you, if you have a hatred for any of the basic kebab ingredients (I don't like half the stuff they normally put in kebabs). Also, they're nice in that they put more of everything else to balance it out :)

The chips match up to the standard set by the kebabs and don't taste like they're so unhealthy that they're killing you on the spot. The drinks are normal drinks.

The place itself is quite small - there's no/few seats (it's changed a few times, so I don't know what it's like right now) so Flame is a takeaway really.

I would recommend it for anyone passing by who happens to be hungry, but it's not so amazing that I would go out of my way to visit Flame.

Prone to disasters
The few times I've been to this particular Subway, I've almost always gone away to look for somewhere else to eat.

The first time I went, the sub toaster wasn't working, so I decided not to bother.

The second time, it was the drinks machine, so I just ordered a sandwich to take away.

The third time, and some small child had been sick (they were half way through cleaning it up when I arrived). This was quite close to the entrance, so you couldn't even get to the counter and try to ignore it. Needless to say, I didn't have much of an appetite after that.

However, the most recent time I went, everything seemed fine. I got a sub sandwich, a drink and a cookie (all of which were up to the high Subway standard) and sat down and ate my food. It was all going so well until I tripped over walking out. It was so close to being a perfect visit! But that's just my clumsiness, not their fault at all. In fact, a member of staff helped me up, which was nice.

So if you can get there on a day where everything is functioning and there are no infants in sight, it'll be a nice visit to a nice place. So really I'm not sure how to rate this Subway. Do I rate it on my experiences of this place, or the place itself... I'll try an average of the two.

Good food, bad toilets
First of all, I quite like fast food, so I'm not already biased against Burger King. But all the same, it's not a place I go regularly for meals, it's more of a place for a quick bite, in my mind at least.

The food at Burger King isn't actually too bad (it's infinitely better than the food at McDonald's, which is just across the road, if you disagree with me)

My favourite is the sweet chilli chicken baguette, but with the chicken royale bun instead of the baguette. This actually tastes GOOD, instead of just the general alright-tasting food that prevails in fast food places.

The drinks are normal drinks that you can get from anywhere, so they are perfectly fine. The ice cream is good as well, though on this point my favour switches to the McFlurry.

In this particular Burger King, the seats are upstairs and it's actually quite a large area, so there's a lot of seats. The worst point are the toilets in this place. Honestly, they scare me. It's not too bad if you're just washing your hands to make them non-sticky after you got ketchup on them or something. But just do NOT actually use the toilets. It's the kind of thing you have nightmares about.

But if you have a good-sized bladder, you'll be fine. In fact, you'll probably enjoy a visit to Burger King.

Garfunkel's is just across the road from Paddington Station, so there's no problems getting to it.

The food is excellent. I personally have pasta each time I go, but with each different type of pasta, it's never failed to delight me. There are also various pizzas, burgers, etc (which I've heard are just as good).

Service is good, and the food doesn't take TOO long to come, but it's not exactly quick either. Waiters/Waitresses are polite and helpful, so there's nothing wrong there.

My only problem with Garfunkel's is the price of it all. It's good food and all, yes, but does it have to be quite so expensive? In my mind, Garfunkel's is a restaurant for special occasions only.

Overall, Garfunkel's is a very good, but expensive, place to eat. I would still recommend it for specials occasions and/or rich people :P

Great for sci-fis, comic geeks, or just children!
This place is full of various games, toys, books, etc. They have just about everything ever that's related to cult films/TV shows. And downstairs there's comics galore.

I love this place because it always has something new and interesting. I go in there every now and again and it doesn't disappoint.

The staff are helpful if you're looking for something in particular. They also understand if you just want to wander around in awe like a kid in a toy store.

It's always a great place for gifts, if you know someone who's a little obsessive about Doctor Who, or is a Trekkie, or something of the sort.

However, it's not always the best place as far as prices go. You'll often get a better deal online or somewhere else. But you'll never get all these things in ONE place.

I strongly recommend this place for everyone, but particularly to those with an obsession for all things shiny and cool.
