One of those places you have to try
I went to the Oxo Tower with with my partner after the theatre recently. We were greeted and seated at the door by a gentleman called Hein.

The food was excellent if overpriced, the view outstanding and the choice of wine from the Sommelier jaw dropping.
However what made our evening was this guy Hein. I think he is one of the managers and he orchestrated the floor like he was leading a symphony.

His recommendations for the food were excellent and his overall manner and helpfulness we'd rate as the best we have ever experienced. He was so calm and assured whilst making us laugh and comfortable. Top guy.
In fact, it says alot about him that it was Hein we were talking about in the taxi home and not the £195 bill (3 courses and a bottle of red wine).

We'll come again...once we've saved up!

Hard to spot but well worth a visit
I was at this tiny resturant on Saturday night with a group of friends. Although the restaurant is a little hard to spot, as it has no signs or boards out front, I was surprised how accomodating the restaurant was and how well nice the staff were.

The food was great and i am sorry if the other guests found us noisy, but hey its not everyday that 14 old uni friends meet and all of us throughly enjoyed our evening.

All in all I think the resturant has won itself 14 repeat customers...

Do yourself a favour, skip this place and go to Burger King - they are cheaper and you'll get more for your money than at this place...And i never thought I'd advocate going to BK!!

Eds is like a 50's eatery with loud 50's music (riding along in my automobile) and i guess the food came from that era too; dry burgers, stingy amounts of chips, small milkshakes, although they are nice but not cold enough, and the cutlery and dinnerware that they serve the food on looks dirty, infact the whole place looks like its not been cleaned properly, and its overpriced too. This diner is cold and the staff are just unfriendly. If you initiate any conversation with them or try to get their attention there pretty oblivious. However they do seem to love chatting with each other, which was irritating considering it delayed our food arriving...funny how the bill arrived so quickly.....

More than just a restaurant
I thought Pasha was superb. I asked for a quite table and my partner & I sat in a secluded booth full of cushions. Drinks in the atmospheric bar beforehand were awesome. I We both had cocktails. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was good with plenty of choice. We could see the belly dancing from where we were sitting and the dancers came to our table and did another dance for us as well! What makes this restaurant is its fabulous atmosphere. It's more than a restaurant; it's an experience! We had an excellent evening and will certainly be making a return visit

Go for happy hour
I was at Wax Bar for their Happy Hour a few weeks ago and was surrised with the amount of food which was served, given the modest pricing. I did not expect the quality of the food to be at such a high standard either.
Really good place for a casual dinner.

A hidden gem
The Social is my favourite new discovery. Looks innocuous from the outside but inside there's a 50's ish bar with horse shoe seating, good tacos & drinks list, downstairs is a second bar and very good small music venue. On the various nights I've been here there have been excellent bands and a friendly, and achingly cool, crowd. It's a little gem.

Don't go here for food
I went to Alaphabet with a group from work. Great bar, good atmosphere. My only gripe - I was told they serve food which was one of the reasons I decided to go there, however when we went to the bar to place an order at 9pm or just before, we were told the kitchen was closed.

A little disappointing as we had 20 very hungry people! We got drunk quicker though........

Awesome views
Fabulous Mahnattan feel after dark, breathtaking views in all directions, especially towards the City.
The service is excellent, the place is open late and has a reasonably good restaurant next door.
They play cool house music and the crowd is chic. Not sure if it's busy every night though.

Bordering on the comical
I have been here twice and both times was rather shocked by the genuine rudeness of the bar-staff. The first time we went we ordered snacks (bread and cheese, salad, soup etc), coffees and drinks. The service was horrendously slow and erratic and the waitress was rather tearful, but the food was good. However, at one point the waitress barked at us to be quiet because there was a reading on - even though we hadn't been pre-warned or even raised our voices.

Giving the venue the benefit of the doubt we returned. This time there was music playing downstairs so we assumed we could talk and ordered a bottle of wine. It arrived without glasses, they came 10 mins later and when we requested them the waitress became distressed and slightly aggressive. Then she told us we had to be very quiet. If we so much as spoke to each other she glared at us balefully. It was an impossible situation. We felt extremely uncomfortable and inhibited so didn't order food, downed our drinks and left. Surely if people aren't allowed to talk when there is a reading downstairs then the cafe should be closed? Or perhaps a door dividing the upstairs from the basement would be a good idea?

This is not a relaxed venue and the staff have an attitude problem, but if you like being told off for chatting with your friends then go ahead and brave it.

Bad first experience
Ordering a burger at Ha Ha was a mistake. Maybe the other food is better?? There are few things in the food world that people seem to agree on, though what a burger should taste like is surely a consensus. Foccacia bun was a good idea, although it was stale, very stale. The meat equally disappointed - tough and chewy, unpleasant at best.
Nice concepts - poor food quality. The creme brulee was ok. No complaints on the service. Overall, it would have been ok if the burger meal hadn't been £10. Let's hope this was just a one off.
