Brilliant! A small family run buisness and a firm favorite for a night out, whether to catch up with old friends or as a romantic dinner. The set menu is stunning with a good choice of dishes and only £10 mondays-thursdays (even at the weekend it is only £12.50) excellent value and a good choice of wines as well.

The Old Cross Tavern
While the Pasties and Pie are nice this isn't the sort of pub you come to wanting to eat out, anyone who has ever enjoyed a beer festival will love this pub. With a selection of regular and guest beer on tap and in bottles you can spend many happy hours trying really spectacular ales in a cozy and friendly environment. The pub itself does not appear spacious but there are plenty of tables indside and a small courtyard at the back and I cannot say enough times how good the reall ales are.

Lovely country pub with and excellent selection of food and cakes and local beers. The food is freshly cooked, well priced and filling and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming with a raoring log fire and a selection of games.

The food at first seems a little pricey but it is excellent quality and the menu always had a marvelous selection of dishes. The wine is suberb and if you managed to have room for it the puddings are divine. We have been with a group of friends which it caters well for but I imagine a couple wishing for a romantic date would be no less pleased.

If you are ever in the area and feeling more than a little hungry this is a great place to go. It may not have either and exciting menu or a wide choice but the food is tasty, filling and only £4.50 for as much as you can possibly eat.

What a fantasic hidden gem. This traditional Austrian restaurant has everything you could want, from traditional wooden decor, cow bells and laderhosen! The fondue is superb, served with a tasty variety of breads (usually washed down with a steiner of beer) and the chocolate variety for pudding is a must. The staff are helpful and friendly and this is one of our favourite places to go out.

Excellent food, fantastic cocktails and lovely milkshakes, this place is not cheap unless you know the secret! Cut price Mondays will get you enormous and delicious burgers for a fiver and 4.30-7.30 happy hour gives cocktails at £3.50. It has a great feel to with walls full of rock memorabilia and good music. A brilliant place to go, drink eat and be merry.
