Nice veggie bites
This is s veggie and vegan cafe serving very tasty food. I am neither but do like to eat veggie food from time to time and this is the best place for it. There is a selection of meals - breakfast/brunch stuff as well as more main meal options, sandwiches and lots of nice salads. It can get busy and as the space is quite small it can feel a little cramped but you can see why it is so popular. They are very welcoming to children and there are high chairs available. It is around the corner from the Grassroots shop where you can find a great selection of health and organic goodies.

Voted Europe's Best Park 2008
You can easily see why this park has been voted Europe's Best Park 2008. It is situated on the Southside of the city and easy to get to with M8 nearby however once you are within the park you can totally forget that you are in the middle of a city! As well as scenic woodland walks and trails there is so much to see - Highland cattle grazing in the fields, Clydesdale horses in the stables, old sawmill, walled garden, a new children's play area and also there are mountain biking trails for the cyclists. Within its grounds it also has the Pollok House which is managed by the National Trust and the fantastic Burrell Collection (both of which have cafes). There are many events hosted in the park especially during the summer like the family day. One of my favourite parks in Glasgow.

A huge selection of films
This cinema is in the city centre of Glasgow and quite convenient if you are going out for meal before hand. It shows huge number of films over as many floors. It is quite pricey but all cinemas are these days and the snacks and drinks prices are extortionate especially on bottles of water. Seats are quite comfy and ambience nice. It gets quite busy on some Fridays and Saturdays especially the first one after a pay day so at those times book ahead if you are particular about what you want to see and to avoid the waiting and the disappointment (there is a little machine which releases your tickets when you put your card in).

Contemporary Scottish
We have visited this cafe quite a few times and it has never failed to please. The menu is changing all the time to allow for seasonal Scottish produce and the result is a contemporary and interesting and well thought out menu. The place looks elegant and crisp but not at all stuffy and very child friendly with high chairs and there is even a kids menu! It is situated on the ground floor level of the House for an Art Lover - a house made to Charles Rennie Mackintosh's designs and drawings and definitely worth a visit. In the grounds next to it there is a nice walled garden and behind the house a fantastic kids playground which always reminds me of (if it existed) of how the rest of Tellytubbyland would look like.

I do love Lush - you can usually smell out a branch from quite a far a way (I mean this in a good way!). There are so many products on display it might be daunting if you have never been before but the staff are on hand for any questions. Some products are very fresh and come with a sell by date and a name of the person who made them which adds a quirky touch. They often have gift boxed sets made up to purchase with a ready selected bundle of products which can make it easier to choose if you are buying a gift. But you can't go wrong with a bath bomb - many a times copied but never as good as an original Lush bath bomb!

This branch is part of a chain of many coffee shops in Glasgow. The place is always quite busy with lots of mums and children as well as non parents and it seems very popular. Selection of toys and lots of room for prams. The food can be a bit hit and miss and the coffee can be too bitter for my tastes. I find the prices can be high compared to other chains but not as consistent in quality whenever I have been. Although the music is quite interesting it can be played at deafening levels at times - way too loud for a chat. There are tables at the front of the coffee shop as well as in the enclosed garden at the back.

Tramway is fantastic venue to visit at any time. The venue hosts drama and dance performances (mostly in the evening) and visual art exhibitions. It offers an interesting backdrop for many shows - the building itself an old tram depot. Outside you can find the fantastic Hidden Gardens which is worth a visit just on its own - a garden dedicated to peace and tranquility in a busy city. Take a lovely walk amongst the birch trees, up to the water feature area and the charming tree library. The recently renovated cafe offers good selection of snacks and meals as well as coffees and cakes. Very robust and child friendly - kids play happily while grown ups chat. In the summer there tables outside in the gardens while the kids run around on the grassed area.

Yes it is a part of a big chain but to me Wagamama never fails to please. Hubby and I have been eating here for years and our son adores it too. The food is very fresh, staff friendly and helpful and the whole place very child friendly with clip on high chairs, kids menu and crayons and paper to draw on. Over the years we have tried food across the whole menu and now have firm favourites such as yasai curry and ginger chicken udon in the mains and duck gyoza (crispy dumpling) and tori kara age (crispy marinated chicken) in the side dishes section. The specials menu changes seasonally and it makes a nice change if you are a regular. The juices are fantastic too - they use whole fruit in their juice machine with lovely flavour combos. Kids menu is well thought off and fantastic value for money with a choice of meals and ice cream for £1. The dessert menu is quite nice too.

Great lunch time spot
This is a really nice noodle bar and quite authentic. The place always looks clean and the food is very fresh and made on the premises. Extensive menu includes multitude of rice dishes and noodle broths as well as really nice sushi. Great vegetarian, meat and seafood choices. During Mon to Fri lunchtime you can also enjoy a main dish and side dish combo for £6.90 from a set menu. The main menu has more choice including fantastic vegetable and prawn tempura with a really nice dipping sauce. There is no separate kids menu but you can order kids portions of most dishes. There is another branch in the West end which is more spacious and easier for buggies (no stairs).

TGI Fridays
After my husband raving for years how good TGI Fridays burgers were (which he tried in a branch in another city) one day we finally decided to visit this branch to test this out myself. I was personally not so impressed. Although the staff were very helpful and friendly the food in my opinion wasn't that great - standard burger bar stuff only much more expensive. Hubby did also say that it wasn't that good this time around. We had to wait quite a while for it to arrive and then the food was not very hot. It was very busy when we visited so we must be in minority but we won't be going back again.
