Fantastic food from Kerala
Rasa are an Indian restaurant specialising in food from the region of Kerala.
I usually take the Vaddakan Feast which is a selection of delicious pre-meal snacks, starters, curries, and desert.
The pre-meal snacks (poppadoms, banana chips and other crispy things) are always the first highlight - they come with fantastic pickles and chutneys. The chicken samosas are great; the spices in the filling are well balanced and the samosas go perfectly with the tomato chutney that comes with it. Banana Boli is another of my favourites: crispy plantain slices. I love their Mori Kachiathu (mango and banana in yoghurt with green chillies, ginger and curry leaves) though unfortunately as a main course it is not very filling, but it makes a great side dish.
The dosas are also great lots of different flavours from the pancake and the chutneys.
The Rasa is my favorite restaurant for non-standard, above average Indian food that is served in an unpretentious setting. It is neither cheap nor hugely expensive and considering the quality of the food I think it is very good value for money.
