There is quite a few places that you can buy sandwiches from in Rugby but i think upper crust is umongst my favourites, they do loverly stotties....i always seem to go for the coronation chicken...but they do loads of different fillings.
The staff are nice and friendly.
It gets quite busy and sometimes there can be a bit of a wait so i would say if you are in a rush you msy have t time it right.
they do selections of crisps, chocolates, cakes, drinks etc
They also do hot foods and sausage rolls etc.
They do have a small area for eating in but to be honest i do not find it very comfatable.
My husband reccomends the tuna salad which although i do not feel you could go very wrong...he reckons they are the best in town!!!
really nice although not in the actually centre of town, i tend to go after being at the post office round the corner - but worth going slightly out in my opinion.

The Winter palace is a gem of a restaurant. simple in a clean, modern way and beautifully maintained. In all my visits it has never disappointed whilst friends and family have always left greatly impressed.

The staff are brilliant and it is a happy formula and the food is without equal in town. and although the area may not be the prettiest, it is quite safe with ample parking in the vicinity, so it really is worth seeking out.

The choice is tremendous and you can hardly go wrong.
Everything is served on immaculate china and the efficient service provided by the staff is charming and informative.

I've not eaten there this year but have dined there several times for team Christmas lunches and get together. The service is normally very friendly and reasonably efficient. The portions are good and the food is very nice.
Also my children went with their grandparents recently and my mpther and father in law were really impressed and also said although they had there doubts on whether it would be sutiable for the children, it was really nice and the staff were very good with the children.
my son says that they make magic spaghetti for some reason do not ask me why....byt he has told everyone how nice the spaghetti was and how better it is than heinz haha!!!
its really quite romantic also with the candlelight etc...would reccommend to any couples.

It's a very nice location, nice staff and great food for a reasonable price.

A friendly atmosphere, good drinks, really nice staff,A must visit for those who enjoy a good drink and laugh, and yummy food but who get fed up of the intimidating town centre pubsfilled with lagar louts.
The food is excellent and the atmosphere of the dining area is good. Really nice surroundings.
overall really impressed. Enjoyed a lovely Sunday Roast there a few weeks ago aswell which was very reasonably priced. Good service all round, whether it be the bar staff or waiting staff.
Really good atmosphere in bar area also regular all seem a nice bunch, would recommend it to anyone in Rugby who is looking for a relaxed place to eat and drink after work or even to familys for a yummy sunday roast. The food is delicious and well worth the money in my opinion.

I have been to the three horse shoes on many occasions. We have had family birthdays, a cristening and also attend two weddings there.

The food is loverly and i would recoomend their trifle or fruits of the forest cheesecake to anyone as it is sooooo good!!!

There sunday dinners are also really nice and good value for money.

The staff are very friendly and also very helpful, we always feel like we are totally looked after.

The restaurant is quite small but is very cosy.

the bar area is loverly and they always have a nice selection of wines also.

The crowd of regulars are always a friendly bunch and the guests always seem pretty good too.

I slept there aswell on the night of my friends wedding and again i was pleasantly suprised the room was so clean and really really cosy and my breakie in the morning was reaaly yummy even nursing a hangover.

I would reccommend this place to anyone looking for a nice cosy hotel in the centre of town, (only little down side is that it was be slightly noisy if your room is on the front side of hotel as is facing a bar and also the restaurant has no air con so in the summer it can get rather warm!!!)

I hate to be picky and i do not like to leave unconstrictive feedback but I had a take away from Bengal spice a few weeks ago after a friend telling me it was great, and i have to say i was not blown away, i waited about 35 mins which i suppose is not that long but my friend had told me how quick it had been, and the food was nothing special in my opinion, i much prefer the Titash (see my reveiw on the Titash) also i did not find the staff as helpful.... its not all bad and my husband really enjoyed his meal, i think its ok, but i was not blown away the way i was when i have been to other restaurants. I would probally recommend you give it a go as like i said i friend of mine was raving about it, so i may have just caught them on a bad day - sorry if my reveiwe is not much help, but i can only say average....they did not do anything to awful i could write a review on how bad it was cause it was not but also there was nothing to rave about either.

If your looking for a party this is the place to go! The atmosphere is fantastic the service is always friendly and the food is gorgeous.
There is a feel good factor that comes from dining out at la casa loco. Great atmosphere,absolutely outstanding food time after time. For me it is always a special occasion that brings me to celebrate at la Casa loco. They get it right time after time, hence the reason they have a very loyal clientel. Lucky locals take note.... because you will need to travel a long,long way to beat this for shear dining pleasure in my opinion.
I would say try the steak..... i know its not mexican but i swear its the best steak ever.... god my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!!!!!

We visited the Hungry Horse in Rugby, also known as the Old Royal Oak. The pub is situated alongside the Oxford Canal. Access is easy and the car park is large. On entering you pass the toilets and through the smoking area and bar to the stairs for the childrens play area.

The indoor childrens play area is for the under 8's. It is down a flight of stairs from the main restaurant and is at canal level, there is an emergency exit onto the canal bank. The play area does not have any supervision, it is up to parents to supervise their children. The play area consists of ball pit, padded climbing frame and is on a small scale compared to some other child friendly pub-restaurants. There was a notice telling parents that the emergency exit was not locked. Although when we visited, some parents were in the bar and restaurant, whilst the children played unsupervised.

The dining area is large and layed out well, with a selection of large tables and smaller tables, thus catering for families of all sizes. You order your food from the bar and can open a tab if required.

The menu appears to be good value, with plenty of choice, although when we visited the mixed grill (18oz of meat) was not available. We ordered a combi starter - enough for 2 adults and 2 children, this was placed in the centre of the table, we did not get given any plates. Our main course of New York Steak and Veggie burgers were adequate. The steak was ordered meduim-well, but when it arrived it was more well done, I think down to the bacon, cheese and bbq sauce that was heated under a grill. The Veggie burger was fine, although a little on the big side. The children had fish pieces in batter, deep fried and tasted greasy. Really the food is nothing special, even if it was quick to arrive at the table
To sum up the food is average, the indoor childrens play are needs staff (or CCTV) supervision, smoking needs to be segragated from the entrance, so customers have a smoke free entrance and exit. Food needs to match the experience customers are seeking, so a slight improvement in presentation and cooking instructions is needed. Overall it is an average pub-restaurant, with average food and average staff.

I must admit im a wetherspoon addict....haha!!

The food is cheap and cheerful and the place is clean and comfatable.

I like the buzz you get when your in there...over fifty odd people chatting away etc...

i go every sunday morning while my child goes to dance class down the road, myself and my husband go in for coffee and toast and read the papers...and i love it.

I find it relaxing and nice atmosphere.

Although it does change throughout the day it gets busier as the day goes on and by the evening as you would imagine can get very crowded and noisy, but its does what is says on the can if you know what i mean - bargain drinks bargain food..... cheap and cheerful !!!

although dependant on the staff in the level of service does change from time to time unfortunatly - you do get burnt toast sometimes!!!!

The queens head in Bretford is your typical traditional country pub. It is such a lovery pub and i would suggest anyone who visits there to try there home made chips as they are so so gorgeous!!!!

The staff are very nice and friendly and helpful etc.

the decor is very nice and really is a proper traditional pub.

the only thing i do not like about the pub is the desserts, they come in a glass kind of cabinets and they do not tend to vary them that much and also they do not look very presentable. Although this is not really an issue as the main courses and starters totally make up for it.

Its also a nice little area to just go and have a drink, its quite quaint and romantic in some ways aswell and my husband and i have often stopped by for a drink.
