Lidl stocks a wide range of food, drink and household supplies for a fairly small supermarket.

There are some brand names among some of the soft drinks, however there aren't many brand names. This is not to say that the food they sell isn't of good quality though. The fruit and veg is often excellent and very fresh. Lidl usually has promotions making its fruit and veg cheaper than the big supermarkets.

For value for money you really can't complain. Ok you probably couldn't do all your 'big shop' here and would have to pick bits up from one of the bigger supermarkets but for the basics and some speciality foreign foods it is excellent.

Excellent value for money, don't be afraid just because it's not brand named!

Efes Kebab
One of the late night munchies takeouts in Doncaster. Located on Hall Gate it's near the usual pubs, clubs and bars and on the way back to most of the taxi bases.

Not the kind of place you'd go into sober! However, as far as late night food goes the pizzas are actually very nice and all the food is cheap enough, usually under £4 for a meal. Food is the usual pizzas, burgers, kebabs etc.

Service is quick, you are given a ticket with a number on it and called up to collect your food. There are a few tables inside however at busy times you may not get sat down.

Woodfield Farm
Found behind B&Q this pub has plenty of parking and is close to many main roads.

Serves typical pub grub which is very tasty and excellent value for money. There is a wide variety of main meals and lovely puddings. On Sunday they also do a carvery. Staff were friendly and helpful when we went.

There are meals for kids as well so ideal to take the whole family to.

This is quite a large pub with plenty of seating space, so you aren’t rushed in or out and you can choose where you want to sit.

A very pleasant dining experience.

Marybone Takeaway
Located opposite Victoria Halls and underneath Marybone Halls, this is the local takeaway for most of the students in this area.

Food is served fairly quickly with a wide choice of Chinese and English food. Prices are about £5 for a Chinese meal.

Food quality is ok, not the best. The chips always seem a bit dodgy and often taste like they've been reheated.

It is normally quite busy, especially on a Friday evening so be prepared to queue and wait!

For what you are paying food is okay and it is a convenience, however it's possible to get better tasting food for the same money.

Rainforest Cafe
Not being from London, we booked a few days in advance however we got there and were seated straight away and the restaurant wasn't all that busy.

The theme is excellent it is like being in a rainforest, however the sound effects do grate after a while!

The food is expensive for what is is, mainly burgers and chips. For 5 of us meal, drinks and deserts cost about £80 and it wasn't all that great.

Service was excellent, our waiter was friendly and we were seen to quickly and food was ready quickly.

Overall, an ok experience but the setting doesn't make up for the poor food quality.

Pizza Hut
Being located in Lakeside, on the edge of the shopping centre and not far from the cinema and bowling alley, this Pizza Hut can be quite busy and there can be a queue to get in at popular times however queues are not too bad.

Service is usually excellent, being seated quickly, food can be slow at busy times but this is to be expected. Drinks are free refills and you are normally asked if you want another drink when yours is running low.

Food is, as you may have guessed, pizza. There's also pasta, a salad bar and a separate menu for kids meals.

Food is good value for money and you can take your leftover home if you want.

Overall good value for money.

Eddie Rockets
Located at the top of Bold Street, opposite Concert Square Eddie Rockets is very easy to find.

It can often get quite busy, especially on a Saturday however staff are very quick at clearing tables so it doesn't take too long to get sat.

Almost as soon as you're sat a waiter/ess will be over to take your order, it really is fast!

The restaurant itself is 50's American diner style with jukeboxes by every table and the typical American diner layout.

Food is served quickly and tastes lovely, much nicer burgers than you would get in McDonalds!

Food is American diner style - hotdogs, burgers and so on and prices are reasonable.

Walkabout
Walkabout is on Priory Walk. This is one of the most popular places to go as part of a night out in Doncaster.

Music is varied with cheesy pop, indie and r'n'b. There are sometimes live bands playing on stage for part of the night. Entry is £3-£5 depending when you get there, the earlier the cheaper however other bars in Doncaster such as Aruba sell queue jumper wristbands for £5.

Drinks are averagely priced, however on a Tuesday many drinks are only £1.

There is a seperate beer garden to the rear, a seating area with sofas and a stage. Toilets are as clean as you could expect for a busy place on a Saturday night!

Three Horseshoes
Three Horseshoes is part of the Sizzling Pub Co. It is on the main road that runs through Branton village. The pub area is on one side of the building with food served on the other side.

Food is your general type of pub grub; burgers, steak, pasta as well as puddings. Good value for money as meals aren't that expensive.

All the pub is now non-smoking however outside round the front are benches where smokers can sit.

Service is excellent, all the staff are friendly.

Overall eating at the three horseshoes is a good experience and good value for money.

Ma Hubbards
Ma Hubbards is in Austerfield and easy to find. It is a large pub and restaurant with large eating rooms.

There is a fairly wide choice of food and promotions are often run for a number of meals for one price. Meals can be bought for as little as 99p, however you can tell in the quality that this is all this cost.

Ma Hubbards would be an ideal meal out for a family on a budget but don't expect great food for your money, you do get what you pay for!

Normally loads and loads of chips served with the meal and portions are just too big for one person to eat!

Service is ok and the restaurant is clean enough.
