Great bar - unreliable service
Recently refurbished. Great venue - especially the top floor coctail bar (though I have heard that the pizzas downstairs are excellent). They are seriously understaffed though, so just hope its your lucky day when you visit.

Good pub and an even better restaurant
Walmer Castle is a funky pub downstairs and an excellent Thai restaurant on the first floor. Its also has a small mezzanine room, with 2-3 tables, where you can get some privacy.

The Westbourne belongs to the family of the less traditional pubs - it has funky, different furniture and definitely a more adventurous decor than your standard pub fare. During the day it has a cafe feel. The downside of the place is that it is ALWAYS crammed full of people. If you can catch it on a quiet hour though, enjoy.

Sexy, funky and stylish
Imagine a HUGE space - tall ceilings doesnt even begin to cover it - comfy sofas, cool music and a good looking crowd... you are now starting to get an image of WS. Because of the size of the space, the music can be as loud or as quiet as you want it to be - just pick the right sofa. It is open late, drinks are good - the only downside may be that it is a bit out of the way (Westbourne Park tube station). But for a city that has almost trademarked overcrowded bars/clubs and is oversupplied with samey-looking traditional pubs - this place is a breath of fresh air.

Hillarious and very, very smart
Avenue Q has managed to do what many artists, writers, plays, films etc - fail to do. It has succeeded in observing many everyday situations in a (sometimes brutally) honest way, in a very humorous but unpretentious way. If you are easily offended or prone to taking things seriously - dont waste the money. If you are up for some mind-tickling fun - dont miss it!

Cafe with character
This place is just... spot on. Somehow I think it can bring anyone right in the mood that they are craving at the moment - you can be slightly cooky, gossipy, arty, continental... And if you dont feel like any of the characters mentioned above - it doesnt matter. This cafe has such a bit heart that everyone will feel perfectly at home, wherever they are coming from. Oh, and the cakes are excellent!

Little Italy on Charlotte Stret
If you are a fan of italian football or fancy a hearty italian welcome with a sandwich to match - Italia Uno will not dissapoint. This small and friendly cafe has had the same owner since I have known about it (about 8 years now). Althought the cafe does not do any warm meals to order, it does some of the best breakfast and sandwiches in town. There is not much else to it really - just simple, excellent italian nosh.

Chaos at the slightest hitch
Today the Villandy's ordering system crashed, and it took over half an hour for the waiting staff and the kitchen staff to realise that somehting was wrong! Needless to say we waited for ages for our food which, when it arrived, was just about decent. They took 25% off our bill - which sounds decent, but not when we noticed that they had actually had the cheek to add the 12.5% service charge! Unless you are feeling particularly humorous, might as well avoid it.
