I have been to the Anglesea on a number of occasions and every time the food has been first class. Small Blackboard written menu that always has something for everyone, great wine and lovely ambience.

You can't book tables so it means you have to turn up early but then you can always have a drink at the bar.

If there is a fault it is that the tables are crammed in and it can get too busy but after a couple of drinks you don't realise.

Even the service which was notorious about 2/3 years ago is now very strong. Can't recommend highly enough.

Have to disagree with Sue slightly. I agree the food is strong but the portions have seemed to dwindle as time has gone on. Went last week and the food, again well cooked, was over before I had begun. Portion size and price together with the incredible noise from the crowds you have to walk through to get to your table mean there are a lot better places to go in Richmond and maybe better to visit early in the week?

Lovely little restaurant on a boat! Range of food from Pizzas to Rack of Lamb. Pizza first class and the meat is very strong too. Meat seems to be always slightly overcooked but still very tender, the calamari are among the best I have tasted. Wine list is a little short and prices maybe a little high. Unlike a lot of Richmond places though , relaxed and enjoyable.

Big fan of this place. Kind of Gastro pub but without the pretentiousness, good food if not exceptional but great ambience and location and friendly staff. Very busy on Sundays where they do excel. Highly recommended

I may be alone but I think this branch is over rated and living off it's location...which is fabulous. Very much over priced and certainly not the greatest steaks I have had been couple of times and on both times our party has left disappointed. Shame as great location and fantastic wine list.

I should like this independent bar and have some good nights but I'm still not sure about it. The food is very average and so avoid that but it does always create a good atmosphere on a Weekend. Good place to have a few but you have to avoid the big fish in small pond types who can try to ruin your night.

Lovely Twist
One of my favourites Thai in London. It is expensive but you get what you pay with food that is always cooked perfectly. The Lamb Shank with Panang Sauce was first class. Great food and service and miles above the tackiness and lazy food of the Blue elephant and others. Highly recommended
