This was my first visit to a Cafe Rouge (there are only 2 in the south west Exeter & Plymouth) & it was very enjoyable. My sister had a wine & mushroom pasta dish & I had the roasted vegetable tart followed by the Breton Crepe. All delicious, reasonably priced, good music, service with a nice mix of other clientele. Highly recommended & I will definately be visiting again. Good Vegetarian choice too.

This restaurant belongs to celebrity chef John Burton Race so it has prices to match. But the dacor is classy, the service from the French waiting staff was excellent and the food was good too, especially the starters. I felt the main course was rather over priced for what it was (vegetables wrapped in a single piece of pasta). If you can get a window table there are great views over the River Dart towards Kingswear. Not a lot of options for vegetarians.

This is a perfect place to visit for a scone and a cup of tea on a summers day. Set within the grounds of Oldway Mansion which was the home of the Singer sewing machine family, with lovely grounds & house to walk around. You can sit overlooking the lawns and tennis courts. It is now owned by the council and used as a registry office so visiting here on a Saturday you are likely to see weding taking place too.

Well, this place has been recently renovated and is a pleasant place to go. We had a meal here which was "ok" but the menu was quite limited & a little like stepping back in time choice wise. I would probably go here again for a drink, but for a vegetarian I wouldnt bother recommending it.

The Souk
The Souk is a Middle Eastern Restaurant on the Barbican area of Plymouth. We had a great, fun evening here, the staff were incredibly friendly. The food was great, the usual Meze selection etc. Prices very reasonable too with excellent music & decor.

The Willow is a vegetarian cafe/restaurant and use mostly if not all organic locally sourced foods. Nice, place, always busy (which is a recommendation in itself) They sometimes have musical evenings. I often pop in here when in Totnes.

A picturesque Olde Worlde pub/restaurant. But our meal was quite disappointing & not especially cheap either. I would go back for a drink & maybe try the food again if I was there anyway, but wouldnt make the effort to go just for a meal.

I have only visited here once, but my friend & I both had different dishes & both were delicious with mine being vegetarian. The prices were very reasonable & the staff friendly. I would definately return here again. The only reason I am not giving this place top marks is because they had rebooked our table only an hour & a half after our booking so we had to leave before we were ready to do so.

I love this place, its very unsual, rustic & has the feeling of the backstage of a theatre. The food here is good, prices good & great music. Also a unique view of Totnes castle towering above from the rear. My only bug bear is the smoking in there, although they have stopped it during the lunchtime. Roll on the 1st of July!
