I have never had a better and unique dining experience in my life. If you want to eat here I advise you to book a table at least in a days advance. Right, where to begin? Its situated right next to canterbury west staion which is convenient for those coming to Canterbury to feast! Its in the Farmer market, so your immidiatly taken away by the raw/cutting edge approach this place has over any other. The menu is drawn up on a giant chalk board, which can change up to two times in one day! This place soly relies on the fresh meat/fish and Veg they have available on the day. Being the farmers market the produce is organic, the meat/and fish are from local farms (they can probably provide the miles their produce has traveled too). The food is the best I have had in Canterbury! The restaurant itself is in the barn, but has its own lifted section, where there are overhead heaters which do the job perfectly. The service was impecible. So friendly, in place that is full every night and has a buzzing atmosphere. The Chef, superb, even had the pleasure to meet! Such a vibrant place, it can only make you want to go back again and again. 3 courses set me back about £35, but well worth every penny(pigeon to start, belly prok, sorbet)! The wine they offer too is great and to top it all of, dont fancy dining in at night? Go during the day and feast on their sandwich's they have (very good). If thats not all enough to convince this is the place to go, then all I can say is your missing out!

Wow. The food here impressed me! It is a little pricey but the quality of food and portions do not let you down. One of few pubs in Canterbury that can merit 5 stars. The pub itself is lovely. A fireplace, with a no smoking areas, and a a large beer garden. Staff were great too!

The granville is a very nice pub to eat at. I went here to have a Christmas dinner, and in all honesty I was not overly impressed with the quality of the food. I ordered duck, and was not expecting a leg of duck, deep fried and not even seasoned. This was major let down. However I cannot fault the starter (spicy carrot soup) and the desert I had was good, traditional bread and butter pudding. The service was good, but food is more important to me.

This place is remarkable. If you fancy a new experience in Canterbury this is the place to go. With 50 choices of Mussels as well as have a set dinner menu offering classics such as Fillet Steak, Lamb Shank, Wild Boar Sausage and Mash. The icing on the cake has to be the fine beers they offer. They have over a 100 on their menu, including some fruit beers, for those who dont like beer but fancy being adventurous. The Service too is great, the waitor reccomended beers to go with the food I had ordered.

It may be a Shepherd Neame Pub on the outside but on the inside Gabrielle and her partner run a slick operation that caters for the more upmarket pub goer. For starters there are not many pubs near Canterbury that serve up a mean Bloody Mary with half a dozen Oysters so well. The bread is freshly baked the food is Gordon Ramsay style simple and tasty and the service is always spot on. If it were slightly cheaper I'd go there more often and give it 5 stars.
