What to expect from a French restaurant in the French quarter of London? Good French food maybe... The contract is fulfilled: this is a Parisian-like restaurant with a decent menu even for the demanding Tricolores. Authentic recipes, no major twist, but you are not there for that, are you? I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Friday, and was very impressed overall. We ate from a delicious set menu that included a tomato salad to start and steak with chips for the main.
I have to say the steak was one of the nicest I've had in a fair while, and the chips were thin and crispy in the authentic French style.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was cosy, it could possibly be too cramped if you decided to visit with more than a few people. La Bouchee is an authentic small french restaurant in the heart of South Kensington. The atmosphere is good, it's intimate and cosy without being pretentious. The only small downside to this place is that Old Brompton road can be noisy and the tables are quite close together so not the best place if you're planning on having a break-up for example. And no I'm not talking from personal experience ;-)
