Avoid a SundayI have been here twice now, expecting a pretty impressive Sunday Lunch.

The first time we were quite late on the Sunday afternoon so we put the cold food, and badly cooked potatoes down to that. The staff were apologetic and replaced it, though the replacement was minimally better.

Last weekend we went for a special meal as we had family visiting. The starter was very nice, a salmon and haddock fishcake, though the presentation was rather uninspiring.

We were there early in the service, so there can be no excuse for cold food. But when the food arrived it was terrible. Our 'medium rare' beef was no different to another party member's 'well done' beef, the 'roast' potatoes were white, and looked a lot like boiled potatoes except they were uncooked in the middle, and the vegetables were cooked until they were soggy, but cold.

We complained and were told they would replace it in 3 minutes. Well, we did wonder what miracle they could pull out in 3 minutes, and it turned out that they couldn't. The meat was exactly the same, as were the potatoes and as were the vegetables.
We were told that 'that is how we serve it', and were offered chunky chips to make up for the terrible potatoes. Chips are not really a replacement for roast potatoes. We did point out to them that if that is 'how they serve it' then perhaps they shouldn't ask how people want their meat cooked. They protested that the vegetables had been cooked that day, but as this was around 1o'clock in the afternoon, something cooked at 9am, probably wouldn't be very servable.

We decided to leave, as it was obvious that the food was not going to get any better, and no one was willing to apologise.

So while Notting Grill has a good reputation, I would steer clear of their Roast Dinners at all costs. And if you have a complaint, don't expect them to be particularly bothered.

I think Anthony Worrell-Thompson needs to get back in the kitchen.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant. Conveyor belt with a wide option of sushi, a menu of noodle and other japanese dishes.
Various different payment options, one to suit everyone.

Light and airy setting, with friendly staff and a good variety on the menu.

Popped in for a quick bowl of noodles before an evening out. The food arrived quickly and was really good.

Am looking forward to trying the sushi.

The Soho Special sandwich/burger is really good. Everyone should try it.

Busy, quite lively, but service was only average.

I will be returning to try the ribs.
