I stayed in the Hoxton hotel and saw something i had never seen before: a restaurant and bar within a hotel which were actually popular! I stayed on a Saturday night and this place was more packed than most of the local bars! The food is supposed to be excellent, I did not eat here however. The drinks were bog standard London prices. There was a heavy door presence, most likely because of the hotel guests coming in and out. This seems to be a cool place to go in this area. Full of trendies and the rich student type you so often find in London it wouldnt be hard to feel you were sticking out like a sore thumb if you had just tramped down from your hotel room for something from the reception shop though!

The Dove is a great pub with a relaxed and rustic atmosphere. It's right on Broadway Market, so it's great to pop in for a drink on a Saturday afternoon when the market is on or in the evening. It's always a friendly crowd and there's a huge selection of beers and great guest ales.

My partner and I frequent the restaurant as well-- we seem to have become regulars as the food is so good and the restaurant staff extremely welcoming and friendly. I specificly recommend their selection of burgers and salmon fishcakes. The price is a little higher than cheap pub food, but you're getting good quality for it-- completely worth it. I definitely recommend The Dove!

The Dove, situated on Broadway Market beside London Fields, is a somewhat genteel and refined establishment, with a real coal fire, candle-lit tables, a wide selection of connaisseur beers and ales, board games, live jazz and a fine dining area. It has the widest range of beers I've ever seen in a pub including gems like Delerium Tremens which will soon have you falling of your seat at 9% alcohol, not to mention the Â£3.50 per glass. So it's a little expensive but offers a cosy but classy atmosphere to impress a date with. The food is excellent if again a bit pricey but the decor is all oak beams, antique artwork and it has, somewhat incongruently, the finest high-tech unisex bathroom of any pub I've seen. It's always quite packed with young artsy-media types but an enchanting experience any day of the week.

i went here last Sunday lunchtime to introduce a Polish friend to a good old Sunday Roast... what a mistake... the whole place smelled of stale beer, service was surly, charge on debit cards (whatever the amount!) and the sunday roast was horrible! Roast potatoes tasted deep-fried, meat was grey and bland, apple sauce was from a jar and i reckon the Yorkshire pudding was from Aldi! For a TENNER!!!

Avoid.

Do NOT drink or eat at this pub! I have been frequenting this venue once a month for a year, with many of my colleagues. We have had problems on every single visit - most frequently being asked to clear the passageway to the bar or kitchen (sorry - we only sat on chairs that you placed here!) but tonight was the last straw. The Dove will now charge you 50p for EVERY card transaction and you cannot set up a tab. Our packets of crisps / pints of chips / glasses of drinks were cleared before we finished them. You cannot have your Hoegaarden in a Hoegaarden glass, as they use them all for their "pint of chips". We were asked to "keep the noise down" - apparently 20 people having conversations on a leaving do on a Friday night creates too much noise. When we joined in with singing "happy birthday" with another group of drinkers, we were all asked to leave, as apparently we had had 6 warnings. "we are a quiet pub and do not cater for that sort of thing". The bouncer then escorted us to the unisex toilets, waited for us all to finish and then walked us out to ur taxi's. I attempted to have a conversation with the manager, who stood aggressively with his legs spread and arms crossed and informed me he had worked there for 15 years. I calmly asked what exactly we had done wrong and apparently he could come up with nothing more than "you are too loud". The bouncer then frogmarched me out of the pub. Needless to say, this will no longer be our monthly pub of choice, despite the range of beers available. I will also no longer be going to my local The Dovetail in Farringdon, their sister pub. I have only rated as 1 star, because I cannot rate as 0 stars.

Awful awful bar. Overpriced drinks, posing clientele, terrible music. I had the misfortune of going here twice in two weeks. They also have stupid rules for smokers (can't take drinks into smoking area) - Not that I smoke but all my friends were smoking so I went outside to stand with them.. we all had to leave our drinks unattended. That's a drink spiking incident waiting to happen.

The Dove has an excellent beer selection, but unfortunately their menu isn't anywhere near as pleasing.

The interior decoration is a cross between an abbey and a traditional English pub, complete with long, hardwood table and bench seating and very dim lighting; a great atmosphere to sit down with a number of friends and go through the entire list of what appears to be a carefully chosen list of Belgian beer, but I wouldn't necessarily eat here for a couple of reasons. Being in Broadway Market you are spoiled for choice when it comes to good food stalls and a couple of other decent restaurants, and the food isn't really that tasty at the Dove. Although the small selection of sausages and hamburgers looks nice, they don't taste as great as the menu reads.

Edible, yes - but in a nutshell, go here for the booze and not the food!!

Located at the fantastic Broadway Market, this bar is a local and trendy spot. They have excellent Belgian beer and also good food. Last time I have a really good Thai curry...(can be a bit pricy though) The atmosphere inside is a bit dark so better when you can sit outside.

I LIKE IT! didn't eat here but I did dance here like mad and had loads of fun!
Last time the smoking ban made me almost lose my friend... I went with him out for a cigarette and the bouncer didn't let me stand with him because it was only for smoking people... can you believe this ****%Â£@@@madness? anyway I still love you hoxton sq B&K

Apparently meant to be amazing for lagers, I don't like them though so have never really noticed.

The pint of chips is good and the attached restaurant serves up nice pub food with a slight Thai twist.
