The place always looks clean and the food is very fresh and made on the premises. Extensive menu includes multitude of rice dishes and noodle broths as well as really nice sushi. Great vegetarian, meat and seafood choices. During Mon to Fri lunchtime you can also enjoy a main dish and side dish combo for £6.90 from a set menu. The main menu has more choice including fantastic vegetable and prawn tempura with a really nice dipping sauce. There is no separate kids menu but you can order kids portions of most dishes. There is another branch in the West end which is more spacious and easier for buggies (no stairs).

There's a great selection of soup-based, noodle and rice dishes and plenty for veggies too. Highlights for me are the vegetable skewers and rolled steak with mushroom side dishes, and for a main dish the beef yakisoba is SO tasty, packed with chilli and ginger flavours.

The lunch deal is really good value and the service is always top-class - very friendly and helpful staff at both West End and town restaurants.

Do try it if you haven't already!

It's got a real traditional flair to it, meaning the food and the environment are both really enjoyable. It's all freshly prepared, and has pretty decent portion sizes, too, so you won't be left too hungry. I can't count the number of times I have been to Ichiban, and I keep coming back for more. It probably has something to do with the price, and the cute little dishes, which at the small price you can order a lot of and try a bit of everything. The warm sake is also lovely and cheap too. The only downside is the bench style seating, this can be a bit sore on the back, and you can end up sitting quite close to strangers, but for quick, delicious bite on the hoof you can't beat it. Far better sushi than you can buy in the supermarket!

It serves a variety of noodle and rice dishes along side tasty sushi. Everything here is freshly prepared by superb chefs. The sushi is tasty and filling. They also do a good range of bento boxes. There are two Ichibans in Glasgow - one in City Centre and the other further out towards the West End. Both are part of the same chain but the quality of food in the West End branch is superior.

Lunch menu is the best way to try the restaurant out. For under a tenner you'll get the chance to try some sushi (if you havene't had the nerve to before), Japanese beer and Soba, a well-flavoured and fairly sized soup.

I eat here two or three times a week at least. The menu is fantastic for all-comers to Japanese; new or old.

At lunch time there is a lunch menu which allows you to select a main course and a side dish for a very reasonable price (currently £6.50), or you can revert to the regular main menu for more choice. The main menu offers a good range of tasty sushi, noodle, noodle soup and rice dishes as well as a great range of side dishes.

The staff are really friendly and the food is not only excellent but usually served very quickly making it an ideal eating spot for a quick lunch during your busy business week.

The food is the most authentic Thai food we've had in the UK. The menu seems expensive, but you get a lot of food for your money and it is of an excellent level of quality. The wine menu is good and there is a good selection of beer and soft drinks.

Ricky, the manager/owner, makes his customers very welcome and the rest of the staff almost fall over themselves trying to please. If you want to try something different, ask Ricky for a recommendation and he'll tell you what's good that day!

Thai Orchid can get a little busy at the weekends, but the ambience still makes it an ideal place to go for a romantic meal for two at any time. Likewise, it is also great for big groups of people too.

This review is specifically regarding the take away and delivery service, I haven't had the pleasure of eating at the restuarant yet.

The menu is fantastic. The usual range of Chinese dishes you'd expect are available, and a few Thai dishes too. All the dishes always contain good quality meat and are always plenty tasty. Prawn crackers are usually thrown in for free, or you can upgrade to the Thai style prawn crackers for a small charge.

My partner and I would eat from here every day if we could afford it and weren't trying to diet! The one thing that lets it down (i.e. 4 stars instead of 5) is the delivery service is sometimes a little slow. I recommend going to pick up the food instead as it is also hotter when you get it home. There's a handy car park just next door.
