Tags: japanese, good value, sushi, noodles
Ichiban - Number One IndeedThis is by far the best Japanese that I have been too. I eat here two or three times a week at least. The menu is fantastic for all-comers to Japanese; new or old.

At lunch time there is a lunch menu which allows you to select a main course and a side dish for a very reasonable price (currently £6.50), or you can revert to the regular main menu for more choice. The main menu offers a good range of tasty sushi, noodle, noodle soup and rice dishes as well as a great range of side dishes.

The staff are really friendly and the food is not only excellent but usually served very quickly making it an ideal eating spot for a quick lunch during your busy business week.

Tags: restaurant, homely, teppanyaki, fun, chinese, thai, japanese
Varied Asian MenuYen is an interesting place. It is a Chinese, Thai and Japanese all mixed in to one.

Down-stairs are several teppanyaki "tables". For those that don't know teppanyaki is a fun way to eat. You sit around a hot place with your friends and the chef prepares your food in front of you, usually showing of his culunary skills by juggling omelette or something similar. The menu here is quite limited in that you have to choose from a selection of meats and then it is a set meal, but it is excellent food and entertainment all rolled in to one.

Up-stairs is a more traditional restaurant. It is quite a big room, and gets pretty busy at the weekend, but it's a lovely place nonetheless. The staff make you feel very welcome and it feels very homely, even given the size of the room. The menu in the main restaurant allows you to pick from a range of Chinese, Thai or Japanese dishes, all of which are excellent.

The food is the most authentic Thai food we've had in the UK. The menu seems expensive, but you get a lot of food for your money and it is of an excellent level of quality. The wine menu is good and there is a good selection of beer and soft drinks.

Ricky, the manager/owner, makes his customers very welcome and the rest of the staff almost fall over themselves trying to please. If you want to try something different, ask Ricky for a recommendation and he'll tell you what's good that day!

Thai Orchid can get a little busy at the weekends, but the ambience still makes it an ideal place to go for a romantic meal for two at any time. Likewise, it is also great for big groups of people too.

Tags: restaurant, delivery, take away, chinese, thai
Delivery ServiceTaiyuan is a Chinese resturant and take away with delivery service that also has a hint of Thai. This review is specifically regarding the take away and delivery service, I haven't had the pleasure of eating at the restuarant yet.

The menu is fantastic. The usual range of Chinese dishes you'd expect are available, and a few Thai dishes too. All the dishes always contain good quality meat and are always plenty tasty. Prawn crackers are usually thrown in for free, or you can upgrade to the Thai style prawn crackers for a small charge.

My partner and I would eat from here every day if we could afford it and weren't trying to diet! The one thing that lets it down (i.e. 4 stars instead of 5) is the delivery service is sometimes a little slow. I recommend going to pick up the food instead as it is also hotter when you get it home. There's a handy car park just next door.
