Always three wickwar beers on draught plus well selected guest beers, and wickwar's own formidable Screech Cider. Feels genuinely like a local pub, right on the center. Big groups are not welcome bacause the place is too small. Grab your best drinking buddy and head down to The Lion for a proper beer in a proper pub.

Doorbell entry gives the place a prohibition feel, and keeps out the undesirables. Cocktails are skillfully made and the selection is great.
An essential bar in Bristol... if you can find it.

Tags: lively, amazing brew, quick bite
Always a favouriteOn the odd occasion when I find myself on the student hell hole that is the triangle, I always visit Hermanos. By day it's a great place to have a coffee and kick back a bit, and by night its a lively little bar with good bartenders and good drinks. Head and shoulders above anything else in the area, like the Square Bar, or The Park.

He enjoys the exclusivity of a private members bar, but I am always disappointed. The decor seems a bit like a middle aged woman's bedroom, and the "art" does not help things much.
The drinks range is predictable, served adequately, and expensive. Nothing special seems to be on offer. I will no doubt return, when nobody else will let us in, but my expectations will be a little lower so as not to be disappointed

They have hundreds of spirits packing the backbar, and knowledgeable staff who seem to know what everything is and where it is. Recently they started doing food. Breakfast, lunch and evening tapas. I went in for luinch after reading great reviews and was not disappointed.
In all, a high quality establishment, with a very relaxed atmosphere. (I was asked to keep my voice down by the manager as I was disturbing other guests... fair enough.. I was shouting a bit) A complete antidate to the bland commercialism of Corn Street. Highly recommended, but dress smart, and be well behaved.
