great find and great foodIt is a small bistro type restaurant with only about 8-10 tables. It should probably be listed as a fish restaurant as they specialise in fresh seasonal fish, although there are other things on the menu.
We had king scallops for our starters which were very big and meaty. Followed by whole lemon sole cooked very simply and absolutley delicious. the fod was so good we went back the following night for jambalaya - a dish to share. A great dining experience. The pub attached to it is great too - its a small pub that specialises in whiskies (predominantly Macallan).
certainly worth a visit.

The menu had most of the usual dishes and as there were 7 of us we chose 3 different set menus.
we all got a bit of everything and there was plenty left over. The red thai curry was an instant favourite with everyone.
The staff were very friendly - we wanted a break between all the courses, not a problem at all.
the restaurnat has a 'cozy' feel to it.

looking forward to going back!

superb fresh foodNot actually much of an indian food lover but I remmebered being here before and everyone said how good it was. I took my partner and we had the best meal ever. We were told that my dish might take a little time to make as I wanted a mild korma type dish with almonds. It was so delicious and fresh I ate the whole lot. In summer the takeawy part of it is completely out the door with customers. Book in summer a the weekend or you'll be disappointed. Worth visiting over and over again.

Phone: 01339 755376
Great pub foodThe food here is all homemade and its fab. You can never go wrong with the salmon in dill and cream sauce and the mussels are very fresh in a creamy sauce - the only thing that was missing was bread to soak up the sauce that was left. fairly priced and the portions are a good size.

Consistently good - worth a visitI eat here on a regular basis when it is a birthday or anniversary with my parents. My dad who is the fussiest person on the planet always requests we go here. carvery at the weekend never fails to please. Lots of normal pub grub on the menu and lots of local produce. I had vension with black pudding last time, maybe an odd combination but it was superb. I keep telling everyone to give it a try. The weekend staff are all very young and so helpful you wouldn't believe it. They are very patient and kind. worth s visit

Disappointing for the priceReputed to be one of the top 50 places to go for dinner.
I ordered dressed crab and caper salad for my starter and it came complete with bits of shell through it. I left the shell on the side assuming such a top class place would come back with regards to the shell being in the wrong place at the wrong time. No such luck. the rest of the meal was average, however the mussel brose (that was on the menu as an interim course) was delicious.

GASTRONOMIC DELIGHTAbsolutley superb food, excellent service. The host - Trevor knows whether to interact with you or whether you want to be left alone. The table is yours for the night. The portions are small but you wont come away hungry. From the moment you walk in the door you will feel special. An excellant dining experience. Cant wait to go back

awfulEaster weekend 2008 - the food was completely oversalted to the point of being nearly inedible and the service is appaling. such rudeness I have never experienced before.
Having given it a second chance with the newish owners only to find it was as appaling as the first poor meal I had there. turns out the locals know how awful it is, one Italian on holiday called it 'slops' and an insult to italian cookery - that sums it up - the wine was good though
