At lunch I had the more expensive 3 course menu at £70 at the former and most recently the £30 one. The latter was probably better value as all the food was superb. The service was faultless. As with most quality restaurants the house wines or by the glass were well enough selected that a pricey wine was not essential.
Compares very well with our other favourite restaurants such as the Square and Maze.

Also like all decent restaurants the cheapest wines are still very good. Whilst you can spend a fortune here you certainly could do a 3 course lunch and a modest amount of wine for £ 50 a head last year. We have been several times and never had anything to criticize.
Weekday lunch does have a predominance of suited business types but that goes with the territory. I disagree with the reviewer as I don't find it 'flash' more 'discrete modern'in style.

The food is very much upto the quality of 1 Michelin starred restaurants in central London. The price is quite high for Richmond but good value and similar to its neighbour on the Hill. Some of the combinations of food are very conventional others a little unusual although very successful. It is easy to see which from the menu .
It is hard to find fault but seating in the bar is quickly a problem. Why have a limit in the restaurant - maximum table size is 6 since the refurbishment ? Please note parking is a problem-ask when you book, they have a few spaces opposite ,priority to residents in the hotel. Apart from that I can recommend highly.

We have been delighted with everything except the crepes suzette.
The food is straight out of a Parisian Bistro, and very tasty. It is possible to eat very reasonably.
We also went to their first wine tasting-7 courses each with 100ml wine which was excellent value . We looked at going again but they have put the price up-and the selection/menu was the same.We will go again later in the year.
It is a great formula for that informal outing with family or friends and copes well with all ages.
