You are greeted at the door and make your way directly down steps into the basement of the building. Service is equally discreet but friendly and attentive. The way the restaurant is set out with decorative wooden screens separating the dining and bar areas work really well and even though the place is noisy (seating a couple of hundred people) the low lighting and choice of music creates a sense of privacy at your table. And the food completely matches up to the setting. The dim sum platters are great as is the clay pot poussin. I guess its possible some customers are pretentious types but if you pay attention to the environment that has been created rather than those sat at other tables i dont see why you wouldnt have a fabulous time. Perfect for a special occasion.

They offer great North African cuisine and a great dining experience with a tasteful Moroccan decor. Momo is covered lanterns and cushions. The bar is also superb and well worth a visit to before your meal. The menu consists of the usual Mediterranean fare with sliced lamb with figs, almonds, shrimps and vermicelli, tagines and couscous. If you really like the look of Momo it is worth noting that they sell pieces of furniture in its shop next door including genuine north African antiques.

I went with three friends for a big birthday and it was a treat, more like a theatrical performance than a simple dinner. From the pre-dinner drinks on a crimson chaise longue, to the succession of seven main courses and then four different types of dessert (might have been five, was slightly confused by then), it was memorable. OK, some of the flavours were eccentric to say the least, and at first I thought we'd end up starving hungry because the portions were teeny, but we filled up very nicely. The waiters were great, the decor amazing if bizarre at times. Didn't like the other diners, though, they were very po-faced with that kind of expense-account ennui. Go, enjoy, be prepared to come away considerably poorer, and as others have said, you'll love it or hate it but you won't forget it.

The atmosphere is lively and the waiters are nice. And most importantly of all, the restaurant serves excellent food. I am not in a position to say how authentically North African the food they serve is, but it is most certainly very tasty. The couscous dishes are all incredible. Their selection of North African wines was also impressive, and we chose a delicious one when we went. I cannot recommend the food enough. My mouth is watering right now as I type this *grin*.

The surroundings are suitably trendy, with an almost nightclub feel. Its lively and tends to get very loud in there. A good venue choice for a social night out with workmates or a hen party.

Regrettably, the service can feel overstretched or inattentive. Last time I dined here I waited over half an hour for the food to arrive after it had been ordered, and that was only after nudging the waiter. Considering how pricey the menu is, they could do more to improve the service.

I liked it very much.

In the event we found we couldn't squeeze down any cake, so just ordered a pot of Earl Grey each. Er... what can I say? It was a very nice cup of tea. (I don't think having just a drink is normally allowed in the dining room, but the staff didn't make a fuss.)

On the way out I also had a quick look around the adjoining lounge bar - a haven of low lighting, low tables, low sofas, and brown and red decor which apparently looks just as good during the day as it does at night. To my everlasting regret, however, I didn't visit the toilets that everyone seems to be mentioning here. Damn!

Phone: 0870 777 4488

Website: http://www.sketch.uk.com
I went to Sketch once and I won't be going back. The decor is cool and it's nice to see something a bit different. The toilets are, as everyone says, amazing and should be seen, but perhaps the lavish decor is accountable for the extortionate drinks prices. I was not happy to be charged £16 for two drinks.
I wouldn't recommend this bar, but if you're a celeb-hound who likes to be seen in the latest "in" place regardless of the quality of the venue, then this may be the perfect bar for you

The semolina was light, the veg were etremely tasty and the lamb perfectly cooked.

There is also a nice selection of Moroccan wines; the one we chose (Cabernet ... cannot remember the name!) was excellent!

The only little thing I did not like was the fact that you have to leave a credit card in order to secure the reservation of the table which really surprised me ... even 3 star Michelin restaurants do not do that, and you have the table for 2 hours. I wonder if they would have kicked me out after 2 hours!

A triumph of coolness, design and trendyness over food and common sense.

I do recommend going though to look at the loos which are a surreal room full of pods. V amusing and quite other-worldly...well worth a visit.

I did go for a big group meal, so maybe I didn't get to taste the 'normal menu' but surely you always have to put your best foot forward?

The food is pretty good, and they have an interesting selection of both virgin and alcoholic cocktails.
