Amazing to think this pub was serving beer in the 16th century!

It can get busy after work. You will be lucky to get a seat. Don't try moving the chairs around as you will be told (politely?) that the chairs cannot be moved.

Loads of ales to try. Scotch eggs and pork pies are served along with mustard.

Watch out for the young bartender who likes you to say "please" when you order.

The sink in the mens toilet is installed over the urinals! Go there for lunch (noon-6pm) and take advantage of their starter and main course for £5 deal! You have to ask for this as you are only given the full priced menu when you sit down. AuthenticMy favourite Chinese in China Town. It is always full of young Chinese which I take as a great sign.

Pretty much what you would expect on the menu but all top notch and very reasonably priced. Don't miss the tapioca drinks which don't seem to be mentioned on the menu. I suspect they are only mentioned on the hand written (in chinese) menus on the wall.
