<p><b>Phone:</b> 020 8340 5823</p><p><b>Website:</b> http://www.sancarlohighgate.co.uk</p><p><b>Tags:</b> american, british, seafood, international, business, good value, mediterranean, brasserie, expensive, french, romantic, italian</p>New OwnershipSan Carlo has been a restaurant in Highgate for about 30 years.. but since Feb 07 is under new ownership.<br /><br />The new owner is a very attractive woman called Gail, who has spent lots of money doing a complete re-furb.<br /><br />The place has lost it&#39;s stuffiness and is a lot more relaxed and stylish now.<br /><br />They serve food all day, so you can have anything from snacks (burger, omellete, fajitas etc) to a posh 3 course lunch right the way through to dinner.<br /><br />Also at weekends they serve brunch all day (&#39;til 5pm I think).<br /><br />Anyway... it&#39;s now very nice and they have a pretty garden out back for use in summer.]]></description>

<p><b>Phone:</b> 020 8340 1780</p><p><b>Tags:</b> independent pub, fires, log fire, late license, modern pub, gastro pub, excellent pub food, beer garden</p>My first &#39;regular&#39; hauntI LOVE this place.<br /><br />I&#39;ve never been a real &#39;bar fly&#39; before as I find most pubs unfriendly and a bit intimidating, but this place was so welcoming to my partner and I that we just keep coming back.<br /><br />The food is really cheap but great quality, all cooked fresh and using great meat from Highgate Butchers... none of those horrid ready meals you get in other pubs.<br /><br />Also, the drinks are quite cheap.<br /><br />They close dead late (about 2am) and have beer gardens for the summer and open wood fires for the winter.<br /><br />Simply great.]]></description>
