excellent local eateriewe love it here, best breakfast in the manor - they serve brunch all day (my standard order is eggs benedict and a smoothie) which is a winner when you have a sore head and its 2pm! They have on occasion persuaded me to have a Bellini too which is ALWAYS a fantastic idea. Large garden room at the rear for parties (20 people I think) and the lunch and evening menu is interesting and inviting - always made with the freshest of ingredients. Its a local gem without a doubt!

consistently excellent foodCan't go wrong with this one, the food here is classic British fodder done very well. Decor is English Eccentrics and I am always amazed by what they can produce out of what seems a tiny kitchen, but I have never been disappointed. If you are lucky enough to meet the proprietor then you will understand why the standard continues to be so high, her attention to detail with everything is limitless. Great upstairs room too which I understand can also be used for large dinner parties. Chiswick remains my fave but there is another now in Barnes too. If you have not been then add this to your list.

love it!we had a fantastic table meal here recently, the place was full which is always a good sign! The food was quite simply fantastic and beautifully presented. Slick modern interior with some wonderful artwork and lights, definitely one for impressing your guests; bill (with ample food and wine) was Â£55 per head. Looking for a reason to return - soon.

Great night outWe ate here recently, and I know they have a posh chef, but rather expensive for what is a basically a noisy jostling gastropub (Â£15.75 for a chicken and mushroom pie - and that was the cheapest item on the main course menu!). It was the Wagyu of chickens I believe - best not to put it in a pie with gravy so it tastes just like...well chicken. The steak was excellent (about the same price as my pie - que?) The wine is pretty well priced and a good solid list ... and the puddings whilst small on size and again a little steep, did look stunning. I think what I am trying to say is that its hard to just 'pop in for a bite' here - you are looking at Â£40 a head min, which is a shame, it being a local boozer. That aside its still high on my list, if you go at the weekend you get the added bonus of a great little nightclub upstairs which is open until 2am. There is also a private dining room seating max 20 which is definitely worth a booking. Smoker-friendly with gardens downstairs and a large busy balcony upstairs too. Well worth a visit, if just for the hand-painted Italian wallpaper in the ladies ..
