Tags: Restaurant, local delicacies, extensive menu, pleasant, good value, fresh, friendly
Better then Sunday RoastWhen looking for something to eat at lunchtime on Easter Sunday in Porthleven we were turned away by the few local cafe's and pubs doing standard Sunday Roast as they were all booked out. We chanced upon this lovely Restaurant and B&B in the corner of the harbour and were pleasantly suprised. With a plethora of local delicacies and moutwatering temptations on the menu I had to try to the Falmouth Oysters which, although sold by the oyster were well worth it. They were not too large and not slimy or gritty and served with a wonderful shallot dressing and no need for much else. I then had the Chicken Breast ceasar salad which turned out to be one of the best Ceasar salads I've ever had. The service was spot on and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. I am so glad we ended up there instead of one of the dire OAP Sunday Roast places. Definitely going on my list of places to visit should I be in the area again.

Tags: relaxed, good value, quick, tasty, friendly, lively, Cozy
Good BurgersAnother delightful yet small burger eatery. Set along the narrow streets of The Warren in St. Ives Blas maximises space by having "communal"tables. Although this can make things a bit cosy there is more then enough room to ignore your neighbors if you are not the friendly type. My only gripe on the space issue is the stools instead of backed chairs. Otherwise, Blas serves up a really tasty burger of various types including vegetarian, chicken and kiddy options. A couple burgers and drinks will set you back around £20 so no more or less expensive then designer burger bars in London. There is a pleasant buzzy atmosphere and the walls are hung with extroidinary portraits of seagulls done by a local artist. The staff are pleasant and attentive and overal it was a great experience.

Location: The Harbour, Wharf Road, TR18 4AS, Penzance, United Kingdom

A really great place to eat. I've been there twice in three years and was well fed and happy each time. The main restaurant is also known as Bosun's sporting a view out over the Penzance harbour whereas the lower portion is the Boatshed Cafe with views onto a small bridge that bisects the port. In the evening both share the delectible dinner menu with excellent wine and desert choices. Certainly value for money over equally priced restaurants in the area that do not serve up nearly as good a plate of food or have such impeccable service.

Not the world's best italian but always edible and friendly service. Plus you can't beat the giant portions and lunch-time deals. You might want to book in advance on a Friday as it can fill up with groups from my office (in particular) quite quickly.

Phone: 020 7482 3990
An Excellent place for lunch if you work in the area. It might not be the mind blowing bento/sushi experience you're looking for but its always tasty and there is plenty to choose from. Fairly affordable and filling without making you too sleepy to go back to work.

The one downside is they still allow smoking, so if this bothers you prepare to be dissapointed.

Otherwise a place a like to frequent.

The Burgers themselves are succulent and well prepared and ten times better then burgers at any of those "gourmet burger" houses/chains and no more expensive.
