This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, the steaks are to die for. Its a very busy restaurant so would advise people to book before going. It is mostly steaks, but you get burgers also.
This is BYOB which always makes restaurants cheaper. So you only get charged for corkage, its a nice feel to the restaurant though, and i know a lot of people who go there all the time as they love it so much.

I went here with my work and really enjoyed my meal! I had garlic bread for starters with a chilli burger for my main, I couldn't fit in a dessert! The burger was really good, the best burger I've ever had. Everyone I was with really enjoyed their dinner, some had steak with garlic mushrooms for starter (I don't like mushrooms, but this was even tempting to me!). Good selection of wines too. Very friendly staff who were easy to chat away to.

I also went here for my mums birthday a couple of months back, we both had steak and it was very tasty, I even had some of those garlic mushrooms that I don't like! And... liked them!

Ok, so this is probably a peculiar review. I ate over the road but actually wished I ate here at Cafe Grande!

The friends I was with tried to take me here but it was simply too popular (noon on a Sat) and so we erroneously went directly over the road.

However, I asked them how many stars they would give this place if they were reviewing it and they agreed it was a 4 star breakfast place. Well, there you go...I hope to be able to review it first hand but wanted to help someone avoid the mistake I made.

A tip though...get there early or just hang out and wait!

Located in Stockbridge, this is a small and very popular "steak & chicken" place.

I still like going here - when in the mood for steak. However it could be better - in fact it once was. The steak is still great, but I couldn't recomment the starters and deserts. Some of the daily specials are good: but if in doubt order a steak.

The fact that you tend to have to book ahead must mean they are doing something right!

The decor is ok - but some of the tables are cramped.

Once of the really nice things: you can bring your own bottle - and there's even an off license across the road.

Service is very good.

Prices are reasonable for steak, but some of the starters and sides are poor value for money.

Overall, 3*. Better starters, sides and roomier tables would improve on this.

I find myself recognising (if not owning) everything that is played. This does not say much for the coolness factor, as I have no style.

A decent night out if I'm with good friends.

We went here on a whim for dinner on saturday and it was great. When we arrived, they were full up, but the lovely waitress took my number and called me within half an hour to advise that a table was ready for us.
The food is bistro style. I had seafood bisque, which was fantastic, then grilled swordfish on a bean cassuolet. The fish was tasty and perfectly cooked, but the cassuolet was disappointing. It more resembled a tinned bean salad than a cassuolet. However, my companions' dishes were all wonderful.
Prices are reasonable too. We each had a glass of house wine, one white, one red and one rose. All were pretty rough, so we'll have to move up the wine list next time!

I love this place. they do really amazing steaks and it is byob so is nice and cheap.
The staff are really friendly too.
It's usually packed so you need to book.
On the downside, the decor is looking very tired and it's too hot in there - air conditioning, or open windows, are needed!
Generally though, it's a nice, cheery and not too formal place to eat.
I've been advised that the Dime Bar Cake is totally awesome, but I was too full to try it on my last visit!

Move along, move along... these aren't the burgers you're looking for (go to Wannaburger instead, this place is a bit average).

Yep, it really is the only good Chinese restaurant in Dundee. I know after living there for 4 years!
The food is always excellenf and staff are friendly and helpful. The Aromatic Crispy Duck and Pancakes is awesome, as is the Salt and Pepper Squid. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
They do take away too, but unfortunately don't deliver.

This is my favourite cocktail bar in Edinburgh, when it's not too packed...
It used to be the Old Fire station, but has been very nicely decorated. It's quite trendy.
The cocktails are lush, especially the bajian basils which I always drink too many of! I like chilling on the sofas upstairs and getting table service. Tables can be booked for special ocassions - a good idea if it's the weekend.
It's a bit pricey, but that's the norm for cocktail bars.
Oh, and it's a good place to see pretty boys and girls!

Indie-tastic night at the Liquid Room. Everything from Stone Roses to Arctic Monkeys with some random stuff thrown in too. DJs Keiron and Skoda will take requests - though are choosy on what they'll play. I've been going for 10 years and still love it. £5 entry, £1'cloakroom. Drinks a hefty £3.20 - get tanked up before going. Has a great smokers' patio out bak too.

This is a small, cosy restaurant in Tollcross. They serve massive portions of quality Mexican food. All the favourites are there - fajitas, enchiladas and the like, but they also do some more unuual dishes - i love the tequilaa prawns. They also give free tortilla chips and dips upon arrival - a nice touch. It's byob, but also does great Margharitas.
