Yakuza or not this place is awesomeI wouldnt go here to see a Yakuza underboss...what I would go here for is probably the best Japanese restaurant in the area.

The food is undeniably the best I have eaten. The fact that the place has a queue outside most nights and is filled with Japanese customers, really says it all....so what the boss is a bit rude....they have tv's hanging up on the walls showing family Japanese shows and you have to sit on wicker chairs in the lobby waiting for your seat!!

The food is what its all about and you can't complain too much about that.

My girlfriend and I always go here and have never had a bad meal OR bad service.

No Cock and Bull hereI was a bit confused when I first went to this pub apart from the name being a bit uncool for a friday drinks...once you do get in you find there are no labelled beverages you'd find in your local.

After a few minutes things settle down, and you find what you actually have is a very unique and different type of pub to most in Central London.

Drinks are all "home-brewed" imported style, cokes come in a glass bottle and they have a nice selection of wines and cheap is not the word Â£1.80 for a pint!!!! even beats most out of City pubs.

The atmosphere in here is excellent, they have an upstairs and downstairs bar which on a friday are pretty much jammed to the rafters. Great old time drinks, great company and a top notch location.

Its worth a visit for the oddity of the drinks, once you've been you will go back.

Spacious, big windows..not much elseLocated in the heart of Soho, you cant miss this place down Dean Street its pretty big with nice big windows and a fairly wagamama'ish layout inside.

Staff were unfortunately quite slow in here. I went with work we had about 10 people and we saw a waitress for about 20 seconds until they came to clear the table....they all seemed to be hiding out the back behind the service bar?!?

The plates and cups are plastic, luckily the knife and forks arent....long wooden tables and plastic plates really did remind me of being back in junior school, just without the plimsoles on.

Food was average, infact pretty tasteless, chips seemed to frozen oven chips.

Its not cheap in here either, burger doesn't come with chips so you're likely to spend about Â£10+ for a burger, chips and drink.

Not sure if i'd go back I have been twice in total.

A gem pub tucked awayAll visitors to Central london looking for a cool nichÃ© little pub should visit the Toucan...practically around the corner from the always interesting Soho it not massive infact there are barely a handful of seats inside.]

The idea here is get your pint of Guiness and stand out on the curb dodging the delivery lorries, Ferrari's, Porche's and odd mental scooter rider.

Prices arent too bad for a drink either, they sell a variety of drinks from behind the bar which is a couple of meters long...I dont know how they get more than 2 people behind it.

Its usually packed with local young and trendy business type and soho-ians.

Its a great pub with a great pint and full of character considering you cant get inside...well worth a visit.

Chill out & drink cocktailsWorth the wait, worth the money...this place is literally cool...You only get 30 minutes in here then you are ushered out the other door, but I did not see one sad face in here.

This place is awesome, the shots are reasonable at Â£6 for a refil, but for your entry price you get one drink and one ice glass free and they do last a while, a really nicely designed Ice Set, with some Londonism thrown in.

Dont go here with shorts or a t-shirt on, although its warm at first and you have a poncho on (draft goes up the bottom) it does get cold.

Put your feet up watch a movieWhat a cinema...exactly what I imagine cinema's to be like...the seats are huge, you can sit with your feet up putting you in an almost horizontal position..as far as movies go this is a great place to go....beer, wine, delicious hot and cold food all available at the back of the venue.

Downsides: It's not cheap...food and drink are in my opinion very overpriced, and you dont get much of it.

The 1 screen they have isnt the best quality...nor the biggest I've seen...

That said you go here with a view to sitting in a gigantic living room, it really is that comfy. I will definately go again...

btw book this place WELL in advance it is very popular and books out quick for big films.

Oysters all RoundNot being a very big fish loving person I wasnt entirely sure what to expect at Bentleys Oyster Bar & Grill.

but I have to say I did opt for some fish as it sounded too good to be true.....it wasnt....I had Roast Plaice with Fennel, Tomato & Aubergine and a fantastic sauce, along with some mash potatoe....I can't fault any of it.

My girlfriend even pursuaded me to down an Oyster which tasted like it had just been plucked out of the sea...absolutely delicious.

Staff were great...the girl waiting on us was watching in awe as I attempted to eat my first Oyster and said she will try one sometime.

The wine list was immense, I cannot fathom where they actually stored all of it...I have never seen a list so big definately something for everyone here.

Its located on a wonderful back street, the decor takes you back to a time when you feel eating out was every bit the romantic luxury it used to be.

I will certainly go back and next time maybe have a plate of Oysters to myself.

Birthday Lunch I searched for ages to book my girlfriend into a nice place for her Birthday lunch and came across Moomba Bar & Kitchen...from the moment Ritu called me back (within 10 minutes of emailing) I knew I had found a great place.

Prior to our arrival she was in constant contact to see if she could help in anyway....getting balloons, ordering a cake and having it made etc.

On Arrival we were seated very nicely toward the back, although it would have been marginally small for what we booked (15 people) we only had 10 which was perfect. Ritu had gone out of her way to decorate our table superbly and have some champagne on ice.

Service was quick and Ritu was there to make sure everything was going okay.

Food arrived in very good time and everyone loved the dishes (mainly a fantastic Beef Roast). Sunday Lunch menu is quite varied seemingly having an option for everyone

Ritu played the perfect host making us all feel welcome and relaxed. We will certainly be visiting this wonderful Putney Restuarant again in the very near future.

And if you're wondering who Ritu is, she is the owner ;o)
