Jack's recently changed hands and has now reopened as part of the chain Deep Blue which has five branches locally. It still offers great quality fish and chips, served in cute and eco-friendly cardboard boxes which I welcome as it makes for less polystyrene debris blowing around Cherry Hinton Road! The fish and chips is still of the high quality that Jack's used to serve, and there is usually a queue snaking out onto the pavement. If you are hoping for chips after a drink at The Rock next door, be quick as Deep Blue closes at 11pm!
