Explore @ Bristol is a great place to while away a few hours with the little ones. Itâ¬"s rather like the Science Museum in London, but not quite as fun, and not free (in fact itâ¬"s quite expensive in my opinion). Itâ¬"s actually highly educational, cleverly hidden under the guise of play - thereâ¬"s loads of buttons to press, things to poke and stuff to build; in fact youâ¬"ll probably have more fun than the kids ;-) Thereâ¬"s parking nearby, just off Anchor Road, or you could take the train, and make the day even more exciting for the children. Explore is an excellent day out for all the family and is suitable for children of all ages. Guaranteed to be an excellent day. Centrally located right next to the train station so wherever you live you can combine a fun train ride with a visit to this excellent attraction.

Explore is a science museum type attraction and offers hands on experiences in order to illustrate how things work. A great educationally learning experience even for the adults! Each "experiment" or item has a description and you have to do something to make it work or to make something happen. There is the fabulous planetarium too which is well worth a look. Not a cheap day out it must be said (though if travelling by bus you can get combined tickets much cheaper)
however, the educational side of this is brilliant! there is plenty of hands on exhibits and things to do, from experiencing being inside a womb to firing an air balloon.
there are also many different exhibitions which stay for only a short time, such as the wallace and gromit displays and currently the love sport exhibition!
