It has a relaxed informal atmosphere, with free wi-fi access and regularly changing local artwork on the walls. It has tables and chairs outside, perfect for watching the world go by on sunny days.
The menu is mainly pizzas and pastas, with a daily specials board of 4 or 5 extra options. Prices are reasonable between £5-£9 for a main meal. I've probably tried a good half of the menu and have never been disappointed yet.
Be warned though it is getting increasingly popular and although in the day you can usually just turn up and get a table if you're planning on arriving after about 7pm in the evening it's probably worth booking in advance.

Suitable for a lunch date or a birthday dinner, it rises to many an occasion. Easy on the student pocket and well in reach of the Philharmonic Halls and other student digs. Food can sometimes be a bit slow if it's busy but I've never had too much of a problem. Fantastic, fresh, good-sized pizzas with plenty of topping. Great portions! Main portions are filling and donâ¬"t leave much space for starters and dessert. However, if thereâ¬"s room, there are several choices of ice cream available, as well as scrumptious rich chocolate cake.

Not the slightest bit pretentious, this is a real gem. One of these places that serve good quality food which is fantastic value. It feels like a neighbourhood restaurant, set in a lovely cobbled street, but is very central for anybody visiting the cathedrals, the art school, John Moores University or Liverpool Uni. Also just around the corner from the Philharmonic, so perfect for a pre-theatre meal.

We swear by the stone baked Greek pizza (feta, olives and shallots) and the Goat Cheese pizza (goat's cheese, balsamic vinegar, roast onion)

Has also been recommended by Lloyd Grossman in the Guardian recently.

Review by LOVEANDKATE

Rating: 5.00
Tags: italian, good value, crowded, lively
I cannot give this place any less than 5 stars i've been back here time and time again. i think there may have been a point in my life where I ate here not just once but twice a week for a serious stretch of time.

As no one else has written a review I'll elaborate a bit more. The quarter is situated on a lovely cobbled street near the georgian buildings at the top end of the town. It is near the infamous suitcase statues inbetween the 2 cathedrals and near both universities and liverpool institute of performing arts and the philamonic theatre. hence you get a very creative and well to do crowd and a few students with good taste.

the atmosphere is unpretentious, with big wooden tables, wireless access and various art and paintings on the wall that change frequently so the restaurant looks fresh.

the menu is a winner and does not often change. It basically consists of pizzas, pasta and salads with a more adventurous specials menu with temptations like fish cakes and stirfrys.

wine is served in tumblers and you can also buy bottled beers. soft drinks include smoothies and firefly botanical tonics, coffees etc

My fave dish is the greek salad pizza which I cannot , not order. i'm usually up for trying something new but its just too good to miss out on!

they also have a wide selection of delicious cakes and deserts including profiteroles and homemade beetroot or carrot cake which i believe they buy in locally from dafnas cheesecake factory??

they also serve breakfass like eggs florentine, salmon omelette, bacon sandwiches and granola however if you arrive even 1 minute passed 12 o'clock lunch they are reluctant to serve the breakfast menu.

this is more to do with it getting so busy for lunch rather than bad service. It is a thriving little business with its regulars and visitors to the city.

You feel comfortable going in on your own and there are spaces along the window if you just want to browse the internet and have a herbal tea.

Staff come and go but a couple have been working there for years so there is always a friendly face.

You will not be disappointed.

Mains start at 5 and a half quid and prices were only put up once by 50p during my 5 years spent in liverpool as a regular quarter visitor.

LIKE MY SECOND HOME!!!
