Worth a visit by codam

Review by codam

Rating: 4.00
Tags:
The Odeon Leicester Square Cinema is a fantastic cinematic experience ⬠if you can afford it. The prices are very high compared to elsewhere, though most central London cinemas arenâ¬"t exactly cheap. What youâ¬"re paying for is a huge screen. I would say that itâ¬"s certainly worth visiting at least once in your lifetime. The location is great too - Leicester square itself is really nice, you can grab an icecream at one of the many ice cream shops around the square before your film, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby as well to visit after the film has finished. Well worth a visit.

Its worth seeing a film here ONCE
(pref a blockbuster showing in a digital format or 3D)if you can get in at concession or promo rate but when the tickets for Adults start at £9 upto £19 for evening performances it is an expensive visit if there are a few of you (Easily the most expensive tickets in UK)

As an additional note AVOID the Mezzanine screens as these have 60 seats Each in each screen and its better value to see anything showing here in alternative screeens around London.

As its London its best to use tube or other public transport to get there. There is plenty of restaurants, bars, nightclubs in the square to make day/evening of the visit

Adviasble to check on the Website to see which film is playing in big screen, as you dont want to get there and its playing in a 60 seater!

I was expecting to get a glass of champagne on entry and other nice things but in fact just got water and popcorn! Was a good experience though and film was great!

Celeb spotting was fun - was sat near Simon Pegg, Brendon Coles and Al Murray but the really famous people were kept away from us mortals!

Worth going to once by kgc

I was very impressed by the large size though and I also thought the screen was much larger than normal. It is more of an experience than other cinemas and itâ¬"s also great waiting outside watching the stars arrive for the latest blockbuster with the cinema all dressed up and the red carpet out along the square. I would recommend going to see a film you know youâ¬"re going to enjoy here, and then youâ¬"ll be able to justify the price.

Unnecessarily Expensive by cbetta

It is used for big premieres and has gained some fame for that reasons.

I went here to see what the fuzz was all about, and was deeply disappointed. At a price of more than twice that of my favorite cinema, the experience was horrible. Yes, the cinema is BIG, it has a lots of seats in a wide range of prices, but all and all this doesn't matter if you keep the screen the same size as most other cinemas. The screen was disappointing, I know a few cinemas that are way cheaper and offer a screen maybe twice the size.

The sound was "ok" but the seats were way to far from the screen. I didn't like this cinema and will never be going back again.
