Great value in Soho by Coffeegeek

Review by Coffeegeek

Rating: 4.00
Tags:
Cheap eats with well cooked food served by nice people. The food is basic grilled meat/ fish with rice and salad but cooked well and very reasonably priced.

I've eaten here many times over the years and this weekends experience was as good as ever. We got my fave table, in the window, and had bread and olives, two starters, two generous mains and a bottle of gluggable house red. The bill was £32 + a well deserved tip.

A if that wasnâ¬"t enough, thereâ¬"s always a lively atmosphere with a good mix of locals and tourists.

If you want dinner in Soho and donâ¬"t want expensive or fancy you canâ¬"t do much better than here.

I hope to be returning many times in the future.

Had a birthday bash here and the food was great, excellent value and the staff were lovely.

Do try it, well worth an impromptu drop in at the weekend with two courses for a tenner.
Cheap and cheerful in Soho by Sarah_W

It's a friendly little bistro-style restaurant - nothing fancy but with a decent menu, cheerful service and with lower than average prices for this part of town.

I started with the deep-fried brie served with mixed berry coulis, which was OK, and followed this with the fillet of sea bream served with mashed potato and a smoked salmon & saffron cream sauce - again, this was reasonable but not exciting. Chris enthused about his starter of Turkish spicy sausages and said his main course mousakka was, like my dishes, OK

More than the food itself I remember the warm welcome, with juicy olives and fresh crusty bread brought immediately to our table. With these, our two courses each, plus a large glass of red vino for me and a couple of beers for Chris, we paid a little over £30 for two - very good value I thought.

They do a set menu with two courses for £9.90 or three for £10.90 (dinner prices - lunch time it's even cheaper)

Offering a range of absolutely delicious and filling Middle Eastern/Mediterranean style food (Lamb Shish, Mousakka, Grilled Salmon) at insanely low prices and accompanied by generous sides of rice or chips and salad, this restaurant is the business. Especially when you realise where it's located. How many times have you been trapped in the tourist central Soho area and had to settle for sub-standard overpriced mush. Not anymore hey?

At £9.90 for three filling courses, this is a winner.

They food is very tasty and they offer a huge varierty of foods from calamari to shish kebabs, hearty sausages and chicken all of these come with generous sides (chips, potatoes, salad or rice depending on food). There is almost too much to choose from!, the drinks are well priced which isn't always the case as place often make up for low food prices with high drinks prices. It is a little tight for space but well worth the cosy feel.
