Small and invariably overcrowded after work, this portuguese bar has an edge over many other local bars through the release of office stress possible through thrashing colleagues in table football. A characterful, energetic little bar that serves excellent cocktails and spanish tapas (from Brindisa, no less, just across the road). The bar men & women seem to really know their stuff and the cocktail list is in a state of constant change, although people come back for expertly made mojitos and caipirinhas. Café Kick bills itself as a continental-style table-football café, and that seems fair enough! It presents an eclectic, almost jumbled appearance, with old wooden furniture, several table football tables and walls adorned with football cuttings and memorabilia from all over Europe. You can get light, Spanish-influenced meals such as salads, sandwiches and tapas, and a wide range of beers. Weâ¬"ve never eaten here, but have found to a great place to stop for a beer while strolling Exmouth Market, a characterful street in Clerkenwell. On a recent sunny afternoon we sat outside watching the world go by and I enjoyed the first Brahma beer Iâ¬"ve had since our trip to Brazil eight years ago.

The table football is taken pretty seriously here, it seems, though no games were in progress when we visited (perhaps because it was the middle of a working Monday afternoon). The tables are original French Bonzini tables with beech wood, cast iron figurines and the proper World Cup cork balls. There's not much more I can add that hasn't already been said about Café Kick. It is a lively, vibrant place, with friendly staff. A fairly narrow space, with table football at the front, and crowded tables to the side and rear.

The mojitos are moreish, the food I tried was tasty and the atmosphere is great. Come with a small group of friends and eat, drink and be merry. More than it name suggests as just a 'cafe', Cafe Kick kicks arse!

Best of all the cocktails are the mojito's, that whilst against the grain of the traditional Cuban recipe of dark sugar, are a wonderful mix of fresh lime, mint, rum and white sugar - shaken in a mixology that is worthy of Mr Cruise in Cocktail himself. No scrub that, these are better!

Plus there's an array of foosball tables to score against and tackle those post work debates. A great change to the 'bored'rooms of the traditional pub / cafe setting.

Put a request in for the tapas inspired menu - and you'll be fed and watered for the evening too!

But more than all these factors the friendly staff and great mix of clientale should encourage to seek out this little gem - trendy, but not for trendy's sake, fun a little bit sophisticated and more than a convivial, diverting, enjoyable, entertaining, lively and merry atmosphere!

Brilliant cocktails (even the virgin moijitoes are amazing!) and the shots are brilliant. The staff are cute (well the men for me) and very friendly always with a smile on your face so you dont mind waiting a while for your cocktail to be made. The atmosphere is like a student bar with fusball tables and tv screens (very imp if watching the rugby).

The only let down is the toilets which were after a while really disgusting. When the toilet roll runs out dont use the toilets. And if you are a woman in no case, even if desperate, should you venture into the mans toilet (unless you are very very drunk).

So given the number of reviews Cafe Kick has already had it's clear that it's a favourite with TP members and with good reason. Very chilled, amazingly friendly, marvellous mojitos, terrific tapas and crazy colours.

Slap bang in the middle of Exmouth Market, it feels like being on holiday - perfect for winding down after a hard day chained to a PC.

This was one of our stops on a tour we did of Exmouth Market recently. The space itself is small but deceptively spacious for people to stand around and socialize with their friends or play a couple of games of table football, which the bar pays homage to in its name.

Fittingly, it reminds me of a pan-Mediterranean social club with their small but tasty selection of sandwiches and bar snacks, and the very congenial atmosphere lent to the bar by the displays of football memorabilia, national flags painted on the floor.

Not only is the concept of the bar very good, but the finishing touches really make a difference, such as the drinks list printed on a menu made to look like a child's notebook. Whenever I feel a bit homesick and want to reconnect with a Latin / Mediterranean atmosphere I go to Cafe Kick. So what is that little "je ne sais quoi" Mediterranean atmosphere. Is it the drinks? Is it the people? Is it how the place is decorated? Is it the staff? Well to be honest it's a mixture of all of these. The drinks are great, it's a variety of cocktails with the Mojito being their best selling one. The people at Cafe Kick are from Portugal and France. They are friendly and easy to kick start a conversation, best of all they remember you the next time you come in (how many times do you have that in London?)... in addition one of the girls who works there is really cute ;-) The place's decoration, is quite similar to Mediterranean bars you have in Europe, with its pictures of previous events, previous customers and of course famous football players. They also have flags of numerous football playing countries on the wooden floor.

Last but not least this is an awesome place because of its table footballs where you can play a nice game or two with friends or just some of the other clientele.

I really like this place - and I don't even like football (at all) - it's incredibly welcoming and the table football is a quirky and different touch. Last time I went, it was, rather randomly, with my mum and my boyfriend.
