When I have been to The Light House (just off of Wimbledon Village) I've had nice meals, thought the staff were amenable, presentation of the food is always good and the menu selection is varied and sounds de-lish!

but

I always have that feeling that it is missing something, or trying to be something it's not?
The food sounds more interetsing than what it actually is - why I don't know, a bit like it's missing a key ingredient and a lot of people I've spoken to have felt the same to a certain extent.
I think the set 2 or 3 course menus are good value
Also, touchs like the inner courtyard, it gives a slight Moroccan/Med' feel to the place - def' plus point.

Don't get me wrong - I'd go back but it's one of those places you'd find it hard to get excited about.

Fusion may be old-hat to some people but who cares about the fickleness of fashion when our favourite local cooks up food that is consistently inventive, seasonal and just a pleasure to eat...

The frequently changing menu consistently delivers a global treat to our tastebuds with
accomplished starters such as griddled chorizo with crunchy,mustardy remoulade, followed by Sea Bass with herby cous cous and grilled pineaple with chili and pineapple parfait.

This is accomplished unfussy food, prepared with love without gimmicks or tricks. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant has an airy relaxed style that invites rather than intimidates (unlike the dreadful Zero Quattro across the road).
