The palace is always surrounded by huge crowds of people, exactly who they think they may catch a glimpse of, I can never guess. But I too have stood in awe and hoped to see some thing in fact anything f interest.
Sadly I have not seen much apart form the odd smartly dressed soldier stood in splendid red, bearskin held high, whilst people call out for him to smile for a photo. The water fountain in front of the palace is lovely also and there is the park right next to it all.
I think it is closed inside now until next year so will have to make do with a view of the outside for now.

Go and visit it and tour the state rooms which are open to the public, but hurry up they are only open until the 29th september and then re open next year. A family ticket cost us close on £40.00 but we thought it was worth it and this can be for 2 adults and up to 3 kids under 17.
We saw the Palaceâ¬"s Ballroom which was set up for a State Banquet.
The horseshoe shaped table which they use on these occasions is covered in beautiful silver gilt items from the grand service, we also saw lots of wonderful jewelled cups, ivory tankards, dishes, sconces, shields, wow, it was incredible. The palace is a must see, do it soon though other wise you will have missed out till next year, can you really wait till then

I would recommend that you go and see Buckingham Palace at night as well as during the day because during the day you can see the famous guards in their outfits, and at night the palace is lit up and looks really cool. There is also a park right next to it which is really nice to spend some time walking around. The palace is very easy to find, if you use the tube the stop is easy to find, and from there there are regular signposts pointing you towards the palace. The tour was a bit expensive so I didn't go on it but I've heard its pretty good. I didn't see the queen though :-) but maybe you'll get lucky.

Full of our history and still home to the royal family. As you walk through the park towards the palace it comes in to view and its superb. There are always lots of people outside waiting to catch a glimpse of some one royal and peering through the bars to see the guards men. The royal mews can be visited too and you can get a ticket that allows you to re visit during the same year with out paying another entrance fee. The inside of the palace can only be visited at certain times of the year, so you do need to check this before you go. You will not be able to see the whole of the interior. Do go you will enjoy a visit here.

The palace is incredibly attractive and there is a bunch of history that is well explained with the incorporated audio guide. A drawback is that there isnâ¬"t really that much to see I completed the tour in less than 2 hours and it isnâ¬"t exactly cheap. You are not allowed to take photographs within the palce.
I robustly propose that you buy tickets on-line prior to visiting so you can avoid having to queue in the morning
Overall, highly recommended unless you are on a fixed funds in which case just watch the changing of the guard.

It was great seeing in real life and thinking how cool it would be to live in a house like that! There are parks around so you can quite happily stroll through them for a while. I would definitely take the opportunity to actually go inside as it looks architecturally beautiful and is full of history, that it is fascinating. I would recommend visiting the palace when the weather is good as it would be quite dull having to stand in the rain to see the palace.

If you're a UK taxpayer and gift aid your admission you can come back as many times as you like within the next 12 months.

Everything about the visit was excellent. The rooms and garden were more wonderful than I anticipated with superb paintings and sculpture. New for 2008 is the Ballroom set out for a State Banquet which was incredible.

However, it was the customer service which was truly remarkable. The attention to detail was amazing. Once you get into the waiting area there are places to sit down in the shade, and half way round, in the Ballroom there are seats so you can take a rest and admire the spectacle. The excellent audio guide was free and they even do a children's version which is really thoughtful. Because everyone's listening to their audio guides rather than talking loudly, it's very peaceful to walk round, if busy, but you can take as much time as you like. Every single member of staff we came across, from the ticket office to the room attendants, was superb, extremely polite with big smiles and a mine of fascinating information if you had questions. It puts nearly every other visitor attraction in the shade.

The entrance alone is worth a look, with it's impressive gates and courtyard, with a regular change of the beefeaters to entertain the crowds. if you have the time ( and are visiting during the opening season) i would suggest taking one of the tours. These are available from july to the end of semptember and give you a small insight into the lives of the royals. you are provided with an audio tour which gives alot of information about the working palace. the state rooms are a real treat to view.
