I went here with my work for a 'work night out' a few years ago. The food was really good, probably one of the best meals I have ever had. There is a good selection on the menu with something for everyone. The drinks here are very good also, nice cocktails. It is quite expensive to eat here, and the drinks can be quite expensive too depending on what you buy. The biggest problem for me is that you can't book, you just have to go along and hope for the best, they have you sit in the bar while you wait for a seat. Now what Browns do better that most is serve drinks their cocktails, wine & beers are all worth a visit, however I now have to mention the food. I'm sure it will not come as a surprise to anyone that you can go in to any Browns in the country and find the same menu on the same day, this is simply because all the food is bought in and heated up. I prefer a more traditional meal where its cooked to order & where minor imperfections are evidence of a freshly just cooked meal.

I ate the warm spicy chicken salad and although it was OK it could easily have been served in any other mass chain restaurant.

Browns has been long established on George Street and has been consistently good. Great food, great cocktails and wine. Comfortable seating with a great atmosphere. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal here (well OK once I did).
