The Phantom of the opera which is at this theatre is a good show. We all know the songs as they have been around for years and that makes it easy to get in to.
From the moment the curtain goes up you are waiting for those opening bars of over the top organ music and the moment it comes on, the great chandelier starts to rise in to the roof full of sparkling lights and you are transported in to a new world. The cast were great and the lady who played the lead part had the most fantastic voice.

2.One of the best musicals of all time, if not the best. Highest grossing entertainment franchise in the world ever. An excellent score, book and lyrics ⬠but when I went in 2006 I felt the cast was a slight let down. After listening to the golden voice of Michael Crawford (who originally played the Phantom) on the Original Cast Recording ⬠a must buy for any fan of the show ⬠I was a little disappointed with the actor who was playing the Phantom. He had very little stage presence, and not the outstanding voice I was expecting. He was good, but not great. However, the rest of the cast were good, although again Raoul did not quite match up to the supreme performance offered by Steve Barton on the Original Cast Recording. However, itâ¬"s not fair to compare a new cast to the definitive original ⬠if youâ¬"ve never seen or heard the show before you will absolutely love it! On a practical note, make sure to avoid the very first row or two, as you will be craning your neck through the entire show ⬠one seat right in the middle of the first row also has obstruction from the conductorâ¬"s head! People at Ticketmaster etc will lie and say these seats are fine. We went to see the show at this theatre and loved every minute of it, from the first few bars of music onwards. The seats we had were right up in the highest tier and we were a little unhappy with our seats in the beginning but once the show began we were transported into the imaginary world of the phantom of the opera. We did have to lean a little to get a better view but we still enjoyed the performance. The bar was packed in the interval and was really over priced, how these theatres justify these over inflated prices I just do not know, it is a real rip off. But you can take your own mineral water or soft drink in, so thats the answer really.
