We've whiled away far too many Sundays reading papers, sipping lattes and americanos and dining on their wonderful breakfast fare.

It's got a wonderful independent feel in this day and age of chain coffee shops.

I know they've branched out into evening meals and sell beer and wine and such, but it'll always be the coffee shop we go out of our way to visit.

Good for lunch too. Only downside is that can get busy, but I guess that is to be expected for a place that stands out from the crowd on streatham high road.

Perfect Blend by ONscotland

Review by ONscotland

Rating: 3.00
Tags:
Perfect Blend should be brilliant. In a world of Starbucks, Nero and Costa, this coffee shop really does stand out. Suede covered walls, banquettes and comfy sofas, all in autumnal colours, mark it as a cut above your average coffee shop. During the day it offers a wide selection of coffees, hand made sandwiches and a decent selection of food as well as a full breakfast menu. The food is good, and there is a small cocktail menu. Yes, that's right, Perfect Blend also has a full bar, ensuring that it covers all bases for the 'hip' Streatham crowd.

Service here really needs kicked into touch (And indeed it was, in 2006, by a great manager who left after two months). Forget about getting food within 30 minutes of ordering on a Sunday morning, as every Observer reader in the area descends for breakfast, something, that every Sunday, seems to take them by surprise. On another visit, the temperature in the place was unbearable, and another attempt at lunch was scuppered by that lack of tables (and time).

The food is good, there's the friendliest bouncer in London on the doors (much nicer than the waiting staff) and it IS busy, so it must be doing something right, but for me... somehow Perfect Blend isn't the sum of its parts.
