I like a bar with a good stock.

Hendricks Gin, Grey Goose vodka, Bulmers Cider, Leffe, Fruli, Grolsch on tap and Illy coffee are all good signs to me.

WHilst on the main strip this bar is pretty decent. Usual Brick Lane mixed bag of folks that make people watching a fun thing to do.

Or there is always reading the graffiti in the toilets which carry some serious pearls of wisdom I can tell you.

Spent a good 6 hours here on a tuesday night, working followed by some serious drinking and banter. Good selection of beers friendly service and some inspiring and amusing toilet graffiti. And not too far to stumble back through spitalfields to get the train home!

I really like the Ten Bells. It gets crowded and noisy and is looking a little worse for wear, but it has a nice friendly atmosphere and is perfect for a pre-curry meetup on the way to Brick Lane. When I last visited this place it was pretty packed. OK, it was a Friday night.

Despite being pretty rammed, the atmosphere was great. Quite how the Ten Bells manages to be such a nice place is slightly mysterious - because it's got all the markers of a typical Shoreditch muppet-hole. The shabby interior, the crap flea market sofas with throngs of elegantly tatty hipsters dangling off them, the trendy music, and ironic t-shirts as far as the eye can see.

But actually, it's got a really nice atmosphere. Not too posey, relaxed and generally quiet (it noises up on weekend nights, though) with a beer selection that probably won't charm an ale enthusiast, but that's got enough pleasing variation from the bog-standard to cheer you up on a hot day.

Also going for it is the fact that it's just over the road from Spitalfields (it's also a stopping-off point for Jack The Ripper tours, by the way). And the bar staff are quite nice to look at.

No, it's not the greatest place in the world, and yes, it would be nice if they got new chairs and fixed up the stairs to the toilets.
