Despite some good scheduling - exciting dj's, new launches and innovative ideas, including the genuinely funny hip hop karaoke, this bar is small and skinny, meaning wherever you stand, you are invariably in somebody's way. It also pales in comparison with its sister bar in Nottingham. The Social is my favourite new discovery. Looks innocuous from the outside but inside there's a 50's ish bar with horse shoe seating, good tacos & drinks list, downstairs is a second bar and very good small music venue. On the various nights I've been here there have been excellent bands and a friendly, and achingly cool, crowd. I've heard lots of good things about The Social even before I moved to London. And its reputation does live up to it.

The Social is a cozy little bar with fantastic music (of course, coz it's owned by the record label Heavenly) and a friendly crowd. They also serve food (Grilled cheese, chips, diner style food). Good selection of beer & ciders. Downstairs hosts various DJ nights (check their website: http://www.thesocial.com) and gigs. It's also the residence home of Hip-Hop Karaoke and Swedish music night Tack!Tack!Tack! It's a wood lined bar with booths and diner food. Has music / graphic / hipster images on the walls. Downstairs is a cool & tiny venue for gigs and DJs. It's like a hip bar in Baltimore, Maryland ... only it's tucked away north of Oxford Street in central London.
