The Horse and Groom is a great pub, clean great friendly attentive service. Prices are very reasonable the food is excellent both in portion size, large and affordable.
The pub is frequented by the university sports clubs but they keep to themselves and are friendly.

Since this pub has been under new management it has had a renaissance of sorts. The food has been top notch (I would highly, highly, recommend the Horse and Groom Cheeseburger, as the best I've ever had and the chips are out of this world. Couple this with an XBOX360 and sofa area to relax on and it's a very cool environment not only to relax at but also to eat, and start a night out at.

The range of Beers and Ciders is very good, with the taps being cleaned often results in a very good pint.

This place has changed a lot over the past six months!
Its got new people running it and its completely different to what it was before.
No longer a Gay bar but welcomes everyone, the food is awesome, they put on great live music, there's a great atmosphere, and they even have an xbox 360!
The only downer is they haven't got any kind of smoking shelter but I'm told its on its way! Though the facilities are basic , these are gradually to be improved, the atmosphere and energy is electric. If you want a good night out rocking music witty and bawdy comments to spice up the night you will relish this place.
