However is all true! I did feel quite old when i went to the mosque kitchen, the clientelle appears to be predominantly student based. That could be because of the price? Its so cheap! Also, don't expect fine cutlery or plates! Maybe i'm a bit old fashioned to expect in a restaruant to eat of plates that you don't throw away at the end of the meal! However the food itself is clearly why they are so busy. its delicious! and recommended based on that and that alone!

The entrance is a bit hidden down an alley off West Nicolson Street.

Seating is outdoors and under plastic roofing, but the food is superb enough to bring people from all walks of life here in droves. For around £4 you get a plate of curry, veg, lamb and rice or nan doled out on disposable plates in the kitchen at the back of Edinburgh's central mosque. If skewered kebabs are on, don't miss these delicious morsels.

Open everyday from noon until 7pm, but the place closes down for prayers: usually 1.30pm to 1.45pm, but a bit longer on Fridays.
