Review by dloizou

Rating: 4.00
Tags:
I and 7 friends were fortunate enough to be given some tickets to go on the London Eye.

I thought going on a Saturday night the queues would have been busier but after obtaining our tickets at 6:30pm we only waited 25 minutes before boarding our pod. So equal to approximately how long it takes to do a loop.

Even better they didn't cram us in to capacity (28 people per pod) so there was plenty of room to explore the heights of London from all angles.

Once in 'flight' the whole experienced seemed to fly by. There is so much to look at that time just seemed to fly by. Every moment was great though.

Now that I have been up at night, I look forward to doing it all again during daylight... just need London to deliver the perfect day ;)

From an inital skeptic, I am now converted. This is not a cheap experience but a very cool thing to do if you get the chance.

London Eye by Madafi

Review by Madafi

Rating: 4.00
Tags:
A group of friends and I spent a few days in London and we decided go onto the London Eye. The first thing that struck me about it is the structure; it is fantastic, and you have to be standing next to it to appreciate the scale of the it all. The queue was quite long; we arrived at the site at 16:00 and managed to get into a pod at 18:30 after two lengthy ques (one for the ticket and another to get in). The views from the pod were spectacular and we even saw the arches of the new Wembly in the far distance. Your picture is taken when the pod is making its way down and if you like it you can purchase a copy for 7.50 (or two for 10.00). We took the offer for two.

When it all ended, however, we were left with a "is that it?" feeling having paid 15 pounds each for the experience. This sense of little value for money continued as we checked the priced of the merchandise on offer.

In conclusion, I don't regret visiting or going on the London Eye but having been on it once I don't think that I would want to go again. I do feel however that it is a must-see for London visitors.

Already lots of comments and reviews on the London Eye and I don't want to repeat what others are saying but here are some key thoughts about the 135m high attraction:
- Highly recommended for out-of-towners - unparalleled views of London
- Remember to book in advance on London eye as it does get busy
- Try a night ride to see London all lit up (and pwetty). Open to 8pm usually and 9pm in June-September.
- Also tie this in with a walk along SouthBank to see other attractions like the Tate Modern, Barbican and London City Hall.
- Website for London Eye: www.londoneye.com
