Ok so I've heard all the blah blah about this place. I've seen Britney and co falling out the door to the waiting paps. And Iâ¬"ve seen the many magazine mentions the place has got. So as you can imagine I had high hopes.

Maybe too high?

Got to the front door and all was well. The usual snobby front of house staff. Can't imagine why. They look like they were dressed at DP's? All cheap black clothes ok Iâ¬"m the snob now, but a girl has high standards.

Next came the walk to my room...make that the looong walk. After the third turn it felt like the opening credits of prisoner cell block H. Get me to the safety of my room quick.

Finally got to a small all white room (still have the prison cell feeling. hmmm) Ok so they laid out the place well. But does the price tag justify this? Me thinks not.

Good if - you're not paying the bill, fancy a light breezy room for a hot summer in the city, need somewhere in the centre of town.

Bad if - you want bags of luxury style, looking to impress, save a bob or three.

All in all 8/10.

The Sanderson has got quite a following and has the reputation of being both uber trendy and uber expensive. Happily, I was invited to lunch and so did not have sight of the prices.
The food was fine. I had a selection of open sandwiches of which the beef and mustard was the best and a fruit plate, sort of fruit on a kebab stick. The room, a glass covered courtyard, was bright and attractive. The table was uncomfortable - for a party of twelve they had put three round tables together; so
I was talking to one neighbour's back. The chairs, with their wrought iron arms, were more style than substance.
Quite full for Easter week. The other punters looked like
they worked in the local ad agencies, youthful
