Story Deli makes a refreshing change to the other eateries in and around the Brick Lane area. It can be a little on the expensive side. However, it is worth every penny and every calorie consumed. Everything about Story Deli is beautiful - the breakfasts (perfect on a Sunday morning), the lunches, the afternoon tea or early morning coffee, even the staff. Everything about this place is fabulous.

Truly outstanding pizza in the Spitalfields Market area (just opposite Rough Trade). Paper thin, crisp crusts, piled with the best ingredients. It's not authentically Italian (as sniffed one of the Italian friends I brought along), but even they had to concede when it's this good you throw authenticity to the winds. It is also not cheap, despite the very casual environment: 10 quid for the pizza, plus a little glass of wine. I've eaten at Story Deli twice now - both on a Saturday night. The ambiance and interior evokes a feeling of warmth. I'm from Toronto originally and reminds me of one of my favourite home decor places called Commute on Queen West.

In the evening, on a big wooden communal table, scattered with candles, it is a lovely place to have an easy dinner with a few friends.

I loved the pizza. Incredibly thin, flakey crust, fresh fresh fresh ingredients. Each pizza is organized in sections. Rather than all the ingredients evenly spread around the pizza, the ingredients are concentrated in areas. It might be a bit different for some but we loved it.

The place is quite nice except for the fact that if you're not among the few lucky customers to find a table inside you have to eat in a narrow street with a thousand people passing by and on a pretty dirty table.
I saw the pizza and decided to stop by. Unfortunately it is better looking than tasting. I had a ham and rocket, while my mates had a margherita. It's not very easy to eat with wooden fork and knife and the pizza itself wasn't anything special. It's very well presented (the chopping board used to serve it is very nice to the eye) but again, a bit disapproving.
A note on the organic cola... it tastes like cuba libre without the rum! But I appreciate the spirit behind it and the whole organic thing.
The bill... well, 28 £ for 3 pizza, 2 cola and a bottle of water is not the best deal in the world but neither the worst.
Anyway the guys there are very friendly and nice.

the pizza is amazing - i liked the spinach and egg one. It is obvious that they use the best ingredients. The place is well designed. Particularly enjoyed the soups which are rich and filling so it's the most value for money item on the menu. Overall the place is not cheap but you get very good quality food, pizzas and salads with nice and fresh ingredients. I don't know if I'd call this place "budget" (at £9+ for a pizza) but you definitely get what you pay for, and more. Their pizza is among the best I've had in London, with its crispy, paper thin crust and impeccibly fresh and organic ingredients. On our visit, my companion and I shared a yummy salad, which came with pine nuts, avocado, and mixed sprouts. The dessert brownie was fudgy and rich, delicious if that's how you like your brownies. The only let down was the latte; it was too hot and too milky. But what can you do?
