Despite what previous reviewers say, the King's Arms is not a gastropub; well not by our definition anyway. It has an open kitchen with activities in there on view to punters and the food is freshly cooked to order as well as being presented piping hot.
We reckon the previous three reviewers went for Sunday lunch together and we have certainly witnessed big plates of food on the sabbath, when some large family parties seem to gather there for a lazy afternoon.
We did the evening service and my spatchcock piripiri chicken and her ladyship's ribs were delicious and both accompanied by good (non frozen) jacket chips and a green salad. Simple food, decent ingredients, properly cooked; not rocket science but nevertheless refreshing all the same. Prices for food are generally 20% higher than we think would be the right mark but what they do, they do pretty well.
They've just started doing 'Kings of Comedy' nights with four comics for £5 admission. Great value, all well organised and some real talent on stage.

This is a cosy London pub which seems to steer a good middle course between traditional and gastropub. I came here for a Sunday lunch with a group of friends in Feb 2007 and I think that's the sort of gathering this pub is best for - it didn't strike me as somewhere to go for a romantic or family meal. The food was excellent, especially the roast duck breast, and I had a couple of glasses of good rioja too. In February 2007 I met a couple of friends for lunch at the King's Arm. We all enjoyed tasty pub meals and quite a few drinks.

The interior of the pub is a good mixture of wooden tables and comfy settees. They even have the latest sport events on the big screen.
For lunch I opted for the Roast Duck Breast with roast sweet potatoes and washed it down with an Australian red wine. The meal was delicious and reasonable priced.

The King's Arm is situated only a 10 minute walk from the tube station London Bridge (Northern and Jubilee line).

The King's Arms is a cosy gastro pub located in Bermondsey, not too far from London Bridge. The interior is comfortable and inviting, with a mix of old leather sofas and mix-matched tables and chairs.

I can highly recommend it as a great place for a Sunday lunch with a group of friends, or just that special someone. Service can be a bit slow at times, but then who is in a hurry on a Sunday anyway!

Their main menu focus is burgers, and they have a small selection of gourmet combinations. Other menu items sound just as good, and I must say that the Roast Duck Breast with roast sweet potato, beans and red wine jus was delicious!
